I think you might want to use a semi gloss black instead of gloss. I used gloss and it kinda looks a little fake(not stock). I think a semi gloss will accent the top of the dash as well as the door panels.

I will repaint mine but it will be a while. its hard work.haha.

use the proper dash paint from someone like eastwood,it's more expensive, but it's the proper interior trim black, and it's a much more durable paint, actually it'sa dye,but you get the idea.

I dont think you can use a dye on plastic. i think it has to be painted. the top of the dash can be dyed but it was black from the factory.

this is a special vinal dye for changing the color of your dash, you also need to get thier cleaner they sell, and the special primer. it takes a long time to get all that old armour all off. if you do it correctly,it's permanent.

I actually had some transparent orange paint from my bro painting his signal lights on his teg so I used a qtip and soaked it in that paint and brushed it on. only one coat and put it together while it was drying. looks pretty good. I dont know it the paint has anything to do with it but my speedo stopped working about 2 weeks after. I didnt damage anything and the cable is still turning so maybe the paint was too heavy? I dont think so but whatever. I dont need a speedo. never look at it anyway.

are you sure the cable clip snapped into the back of the speedo? if it's not clipped it will come loose. also your computer both carbed and Fi looks at that speedo for signals.

I have a carb and am unaware of any computer in the car. What signals are you talking about? Its not acting different than when it worked. I have a smog coming up next month and want it to pass with out problems. I am friends with the smog tech so it shouldnt be a problem(it hasnt been in the past) but im curious.

there is a switch in the speedo that tells the computer the car is below a certain speed, it tells the computer to operate certain valves in the black box. your computer is under the drivers seat, under the plastic cover. it has no check engine light or diagnostics, but it is a basic computer as it uses inputs from various switches, sensors on the car and the oxygen sensor to adjust the valves in the black box, adjust idle speed, and control your mixture on the carb. the mixture is set rich factory, and the computer uses those large white valves on the side of your manifold,to allow air into the manifold, and lean out the mixture, depending on what the oxygen sensor, and other parameters tell it.

that looks clean. now find the se-i console and arm rest. maybe some prelude seats, looks like you have civic seats now.
