Don't mind the rock chips, the car gets repainted next week. I also decided to make a new thread, I think the other thread was dead.. Also I took the Move Over banner off today, I just had it on there for a road trip. Comment away folks.

After you get it re-painted, put a bra on it for 100 mph highway riding. What you give for it, about 19k?

ChaseR

^ as in what did I pay for the car? $22,000

Sweet. I like the new civics, they look pretty good blacked-out too. nice ride man. If i had one i would do it the same way except with a chrome rimmed(lip) wheel and i'd put this grille in with a smaller H, off-set, about where your Si emblem is.

ChaseR
01-04-2008, 07:21 PM

looks good man-I would go for some diff wheels&tires though

MessyHonda
01-05-2008, 12:15 AM
stock weight is 2945

so 197hp/2945=.0668

and the 3gee sport is

160(jdm b20) / 2700=.0592

120/2700=.0444

so our hp to weight sucks.

ChaseR
01-05-2008, 12:21 AM
Im pretty sure the 06/07 Si coupe is 2880lbs, but your close... Either way even the "B20" JDM accord wouldn't stand a chance against a new Si... And even though your .668 number may look like it sucks, explain how I can walk on Cadillacs with Northstar V8's and pull on Supercharged Cobalts?

Megan or Mugen? anyway it looks good for what it is. Any car looks good triple black IMO.
I dont know why but I am sitll with no ends on this style Civic. I see one that looks ok then the next one just doesnt look right to me. I think it is because a few other carmakers came out with a similar design a few years earlier, the designs did'nt flow out for me yet, then Honda put this car out. I kinda like the sedans profile better.
Good job on the car though ChaseR,

I can admit that is a stupid argument but he is right, just watch this video
CivicType-R new vs old topgear EP3 FN2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKcShDTYb4Q&feature=related)
I know that is not the same civic but its made on the same chassis as a European Civic-Rover... LoL <-- on this video..

^ What are you talking about? What does the Type R battle above have anything to do with the USDM Si?

2ndGenGuy
01-07-2008, 09:48 AM
The US Civic Si is nothing like that rubbish UK Civic Type-R Eggmobile. The UK version has electric power steering and a solid rear axle. The US version has traditional hydraulic power steering and independent rear suspension. I don't even consider that UK Type-R to be a Honda. Our Si is more closely related to the JDM Type-R, and is in-fact built on the same chassis. As you will see in this video the JDM / USDM version is far superior, mainly due to handling:

ChaseR
01-07-2008, 10:59 AM
actually 2ndgenguy, The USDM Si does have Electronic Assisted Power Steering.

What?! Eeew! I like my road feel thank you very much. Even if that means feeling the road at very low speeds comparatively... ;) Sounds like you need some JDM hydraulic power steering swap goodness. ;)

The UK Type-R is still rubbish!

I'm absolutely agree ^^^ first of all its a build at MG/Rover factory.. That new civic is hideous car.. every time I see it on a street I want to kick it...

Ya know I think the Chassis Rigidty high spring rates and Hard Dampening make up for whatever the Electronic power steering takes away. It really is a fine handling car you would have to drive one to understand, Or better yet a modified one.

2ndGenGuy
01-07-2008, 01:27 PM
Don't get me wrong, I would totally love one. I really do like the design of the new Civics, and I'm sure they did a better job than Nissan with the electric power steering. I just know that driving the new Sentra SE-R is like playing a video game.

01-07-2008, 07:59 PM
hmmm. looking good and clean as always. although i really don't like the new civics all that much, especially not the coupes. and with that mod list, i'd hope you can more than just pull on the s/c cobalt ss.

MIK3

I don't know about those Comptech S/C kits man...$3500 for 40-50hp seems a little steep.

Either way, props on blacking it out. And to answer your question about beating the N-star Caddies and Cobalts 1.) The Caddies best N-star will do a 0-60 at around 7 seconds, save the XLR and 2.) Cobalt SS drivers can't drive...I'm not saying your civic doesn't have the potential to beat a Cobalt good driver vs. good driver, but I know in AZ most Cobalt drivers here just got their licenses.

Either way, when do you plan on running it? Either dyno'ing or track?

ChaseR
01-09-2008, 10:42 PM
I will dyno is when I get the S/C, I know 40-50 Hp doesn't sound a lot but w/e, it's not going to be the fastest thing on the road but will def give it an edge.

2ndGenGuy
01-09-2008, 10:59 PM
The supercharger may make only 40-50hp, but I'm pretty sure it will bump the torque curve across the whole RPM band. Plus it will always be in boost, and never have turbo lag. I think it's a smarter, more reliable choice vs turbo.

ChaseR
01-10-2008, 07:56 PM
^right on, I will easily walk a lot of cars with that on there.

MIK3
01-10-2008, 08:52 PM
Oh, yeah, I only mentioned the whole S/C ordeal because of the price. I would S/C a vehicle over turbo it any day. Turbo's bring a greater potential for tranny failure as increased RPM brings increase HP #'s and there's the whole lag issues. Plus...I hear way to many BOV's now a days and not enough whine.

A couple years down the road I actually plan on dropping a Vortech V2 into the max.

snoopyloopy
01-11-2008, 07:29 AM
yeah, i wouldn't mind one of the new tl type-s with a sc myself. sc is better for daily driving and the occasional race imo whereas turbo is just for all-out power and bragging rights for your $2000 civic (generic civic, not your's, chase).

speedpenguin
01-11-2008, 12:30 PM
That car actually makes me like the design of the new Civics, which, believe me, is an accomplishment.

ChaseR
01-11-2008, 02:43 PM
^ Thank's man! I think it looks a lot better than stock.
