so i recently almost spun a bearing on my a20a1 im looking into getting a used engine i have water pump oil pump timing belt and bearing and then i will for sure do cam swap and carb swap what else could i do to get some more na hp 89 lx 5 speed

Full exhaust, search around for some threads on that topic. You could also port and polish the head to aid in airflow. Another thing is you could look into bumping up the compression.

swap in a low mile a20a3 engine and just put on the carb on it.
