My SE-i Bose stereo seems to be on it's way out. I was wondering if there is any reason I couldn't just slide one of the standard Honda Alpine tuners in and connect it up to the existing Bose Speaker system. If there are no issues with that then I would probably just replace it with one from somebody's parted out Accord, otherwise i'd probably have to find another Bose package.

As for the problem with the current stereo, for some reason the FM stations will sort of cut out and I will only be able to faintly hear them. This only happens with FM stations and if I use the AM tuner or cassette deck this problem does not exist. It happens on and off and when it does happen it affects all of the stations, it seems to be happening more frequently as of late. If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix the current setup, i'm all ears.

try replaceing the antena or wiggeling the antena when it starts going out

I was thinking about replacing the antennae, I didn't think about wiggling it. That's a great idea for a test, i'd do it but i'm not sure how well it would work here. Currently the average high is like -2. :(

It fixed the problem for me. If you can track down the headunit, all I did was remove the old one, hooked the new one up, and voila, it works perfect.

I thought you bought a Bose system from 86 Accord lxi to replace your Bose system which was acting up. If you did buy his you have a headunit that work sometimes I will buy that one from you that works sometimes..
