Unfortunately, I'm not posting here on a good "3geez" note. Back in 1988, we (my ex and I) bought an '88 Accord Coupe off the lot, and it started us on a path of owning various Hondas over the years, and I'm glad to say that in all cases except our '88, they have all been trouble-free and dependable. My '97 CR-V is on its way to 190,000 miles, and still hasn't seen a mechanic yet. (Other than doing my own maintenance.)
At any rate, the timing belt on the '88 Accord busted a few years ago, thanks to some oil that had leaked out of the oil cover gasket and onto the belt. Due to a lack of time, money and a few tools I don't have, I was never able to fix this, and the car had been sitting for a few years in the garage. When I posted it for sale on Craigslist, I e-mailed someone who mentioned he was a moderator on this forum (his real name is Daryl...not sure if he's still on the staff or not), and he mentioned that I post the car here in case anyone local might want it as a parts car, or feel like fixing it up. (The body is in such nice condition, you could probably drop a new drivetrain in it and hit the ground running.) Daryl lives in Canton, MI not far from me.
So the short version is, I just listed the car here since I need it off the property by the end of the month, since I'm moving. I'd rather have someone here give it a good home, rather than haul it off to the scrapyard. I really wish I had the resources to fix this thing up and get it running, but I don't. It gave us a lot of good miles on the road, though, and I've lurked here at 3Geez for the past several months enjoying the photos of some of the Accords that have been restored and/or modified. Nice work!
