New sub...new disappointment..

I just bought a new 10" Alpine type r 4ohm and I have it hooked up to a kenwood 7202...I've never really dealt with a DVC before so I'm assuming the way I have it wired is the proper way...so here's how I have it. It's wired in parallel...its bridged off my amp...and I'm not sure if there's anything else to explain on my part. Unfortunately it sounds almost as boomy as some crappy 12" kicker sub (round comp) I replaced with it and it's supposed to handle an extra 200rms. Maybe I was just expecting too much or there's just something I'm doing incorrectly on my part. The only thing I can think of is the small 8 gauge power wire I have running from the battery...besides that all the wiring should be correct. :wtf:

i had the same sub, only 12"........two of them actually....blew them both within two weeks.

Sounds like you don't have it in a properly sized enclosure. What are the dimensions of the enclosure?

yeah subs need tunning...and time to break in.
