Are you talking about the dogbone? If so i wouldn't recommend it.

i wouldnt recommend it either. just buy a new insert and save yourself some serious hassles down the road.

If it's only temporary, you can drive without it. Don't be too hard on the engine and shift smoothly, it shouldn't break. I wouldn't leave it like that tough, I've had bad experience with mising torque mounts :(

Lol, I don't have a hole in the hood. The engine did hit the hood tough. It made a small dent in the reinforcement but nothing that's visible.

What happened is that the front mount snapped, the engine moved and killed my axle, almost destroying the oilpan along the way.

It wasn't my car. I think you're refering to this thread. http://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=63632

You could ditch the torque mount if you had a really good front mount.

I would be very careful and not drive around like that very long. Too much movement of the engine assembly might cause failure of the front mount. It doesn't seem to be very durable once it gets to be a few years old and since it is hollow and fille with oil the top tned to separate from the bottom.
