It's dead. Died last week, didn't get passed out of committee.

A bill like that probably won't fly here. Don't be surprised when it shows up again next year, and the year after, and the year after and it dies every year. I've been watching the same exact bills come through the legislature this year that were killed off last year. They don't spend a lot of time on these repeat bills.

well...our engines are 1955cc...so we would only be 45 shy of paying...unless they are gay and make you pay 70 bucks

we have all sorts of gay little green taxes and such here. Its a cool place to live and all but all the king county crap drives me nuts. Ive never been on the monorail, viaduct and wont ever use a light link rail system(although Im currently installing it. thanks for paying your taxes) but they did drive my taxes up another grand last year

You definitely live in the wrong county. It's better in Thurston County. The legislators keep the roads in good condition, the longest traffic backups take about 5 minutes to get through, no emissions to pass, there are less people, housing is cheaper, people are happier. ;)

They already have those in many countries in Europe. Ever wondered why Hodna produced so many 2L engines?

We have a similar fee here for engines above 4.0L

Not sure why they think displacement = pollution. I know of a few 5.7 liter and up cars that get 28+mpg.

Because it's easier for THEM to go by displacement vs Size...

In london they have a System where your taxed based on the size of your car, that I can understand vs displacement..

I sit in no less than 1 hour of traffic every morning going less than 10 miles. Theyve been widening the road to 5 lanes each way but I doubt itll help. Just too many people not enough order to the roads

Not enough order to the drivers, IMO. Nobody here is taught how to drive while thinking about their actions and the repercussions it has on the traffic behind them. Where I-5 and 101 meet up in Olympia, people constantly drop down to 45mph and putz along. Nobody in front of them. I'm going to stop now or I'll get upset. ;)
