sweet marshall amp and (i believe they call that a) halfstack. If the amp works half as well as the halfstack i bet it sounds bad-ass!

It's black. Kind of a satiny black. I'm thinking that the low light conditions and the flash made it come out a little blue though.

yep it's a marshall halfstack. I could add another cabinet and make it a full stack, but it's so loud as it is. I've never turned the amp up past halfway because I can't even stand in the same room with it then. hehe. and I love my fender strat.

haha. yeah it's a nice cd player. It's lasted at least 5 years for me. I use it to practice with. just pop in the song I want to learn and use the amp as the speakers. hehe.

you have the marshall quad but not the jcm head
Why?
those solid state amps sound bleh evn wit the fx
sell them both and the strat
get a mesa boogie and a les paul
the ultimate rock gat set up

lol. I actually tested quite a few amps before I picked this one. Including some tube amps. I like the tone of marshalls more. As far as the strat goes. It's a fender strat ultra. So it's got a nice humbucker in it instead of the weak sounding single coil pickup for the bridge pickup. I've only played on once guitar that's nice, and it wasn't a les paul. It was a Bolin. Now those are some nice guitars.

the strat with the humbucker is not a bad sounding thing.
still prefer the les paul sound, heaps chunkier
i like that sound you only get from mahogany
my bro has a mesa blue angel dual rectifier
awesome wee amp
loudest 50w single twelve i,ve ever heard
i play an ibanez sz 320
look like a strat but a carved top mahogany body ,mahogany set neck
2 seymour duncan humbuckers, solid bridge and string thru body
not as dark as a lp but darker than a strat and heaps of gain with the hb pu
my bro wants to buy one to back up his lp studio its that good
i use a fender twin reverb when i can "borrow" it from my old man or my bro's mesa
looking at buyin a peavey valve king combo
read they are pretty fn good
all in the search for the malcom young sound
cant afford the gretch white falcon or a wall of marshalls tho
u heard of the darkness?

I've tried out some les pauls and I didn't like them as much as my strat. too big and clunky. I like smaller necks. And about the tone, I tend to go for a deep mellow tone which this guitar deals out very nicely, and then goes to crunchy when I want it too. Although I use 11 gauge flatwound strings. If you want some serious pain try those out. They're worse than using 12 gauge nickle strings, but they're nice and deep and mellow. My ideal guitar is still a Bolin. Those are some nice guitars. All custom built. He's made guitars for bands and people like zz top, the rolling stones, and jimmy paige. I'm gonna save up my money, and get a custom les paul from him that's shaved down on the back, and contoured similar to what the strats are.

edit: forgot to mention that the les paul has had some custom work done by Bolin guitars before I got it. As well as some fret refinishing and a stronger spring for the wammy bar after I bought it, And damn does he do some nice work

edit2: yes I've heard of the darkness, but I haven't really listened to them. I'm more of a van halen kind of guy. hehe

try an ibanez les paul rip off
all the ibanez gats have strat like necks and are real nice to play
a lp with a tremelo i wouldnt touch
they perform best with the stop tailpiece
the bigsby tremelo seems to take some grunt from an lp
i play 10 gauge nickles myself
takes some the bottom end out my gat
does this bolin dude mod existing gats or scratch build them?
if the likes of keef and jimmy play them they'd pretty good
altho have only seen those guys playin lp's and strat/teles
like my vh as well but like the grunt of hard rock
listen to the darkness and you'd find that apart from the falsetto voice
they are prob the best gat rock band since ac/dc
altho people say they sound like queen
thats just the vocals. they have fun with the music
dont take them selves to seriously like the polished vh or bon jovi types
fing a darkness concert on dvd and see for yourself
rock n roll the way it meant to be
in my ears anyway

Bolin does both custom built and modification of existing guitars. Mostly custom built though. He has a couple of standard models also. The best part is that his shop is in Boise about a mile away from my house!

Looks killer. I got a few questions cause I'm looking to do the same.

How is the gas millage compared to running a the stock 'pos' carb? Do you notice a better response on full throttle? Any tips on them coolant passages so I don't blow a head gasket. (seen someone else have a problem recently) How much was the adapter plate & did you get it from Redline?

well I haven't run through a full tank of gas yet, so I don't know my gas milage. I would guess it's better than the 14mpg I was getting. Although a 38 is supposed to be a little worse than what the stock carb gives if it's running right.
Throttle response is better at all rpm's. And why would you blow a head gasket from the coolant lines? you only have to plug one line on the intake manifold. I just used jb weld for that. I guess there's the one hose coming from the block. I just put a long bolt on it and tightened some clamps around that. Haven't had any problems.

I am however having a problem getting those damn adapter plate gaskets to seal. What kind of formagasket are you guys using to get them to seal?
