what is the name of the paint used to paint the tail lights red? How many cans do you need? how many coats do you need on them?

i'll answer that, i did my tails red.

get your self one can (cause thats all you'll need) of plasti-kote transparent candy apple red. take your tails off and give them as many coats as you feel necesarry for the reds to match. any more questions just ask.

to be on the safe side, I think its worth it to take a few extra minutes to take them off.

I thought that if you put a clear - coat over the tails after you're done the red..that it messes 'em up later on down the road...? I remember someone saying that their tails faded, and they couldn't get the clear stuff off to paint 'em again...

I dunno..maybe i'm just on crack..:bh:

i have had a clear coat on mine for about a year. i've never had any problems i think mike has had it on his car a little longer, you may want to check with him

i dont understand why you would have to repaint that often. it rains and everything here. mine are still good.

I use krylon candy apple red clear stuff... perhaps its no good......
actually..... it could have something to do with me washing the car almost every other day...... with a pressure washer.

there are only 4 nuts and a wire harness to pull the assemblies off. takes at most, 5 minutes. :D
