89 Accord Lx Coupe I got for free

heres some pics of the accord my buddy gave me, been sitting in his driveway for about 2 years... started right up, needs a tune up and a clutch..only 148,000kms :)

That's not a bad looking car man. little touchup on the hood and the "chrome" edge pieces gone and it'll be sharp!
and welcome to the board! this is the best reference for anything for that car you'll find!

yeah, paint the hood and i hate those damn chrome peices.. get a heat gun and they should come off pretty quick i hope.... aired up the tires, got some carb cleaner...just waiting for payday to fill her up with premium, let her run for an hour or two... get the system cleaned of all that old gas... now just gotta get my tranny situation sorted out and put in a new ignition..

Wow, good shape for being free LOL My Scirocco was free, all it needed was a clutch as well....dunno why some ppl think a burned out clutch means the whole car is junk o.O

Boot lid? you mean the trunk? I donno why its off, just have to bolt it back onto the hinges...n all the wiring for the trunk lid is cut...but i'm sure after re-connecting all the wires she'll be fine... I might even pull off the stock trunk lights n make a sweet looking led tail light setup....we'll see...

So the car has been in an accident before... slight dents where the pass side headlight bolts up, not bad tho.. and I noticed the front bumper is off an 86-87 accord, the 89 bumper is sitting next to the parts car, doesn't look like its damaged too badly.. maybe the mount points are fucked or something.... Maybe I'll fiberglass up some custom bumper or somethin ;)
Also bolted down the trunk lid today, fits like a dream...just have connect all the wires(cut near the hindge)...bah like 20 wires for that bitch...i'm sure it wont be too bad tho..

I'll keep pictures comming with the progress, once the car is at my shop tons of work will begin... Probably post a new thread for the progress, wont be for about a month or so tho..

Oh and the parts car is an 87 Ex-i, not an Lx-i (any big differences besides no rear disc brakes?)

well i got a call from my brother, i am picking up his truck instead...buddy is taking too long with the paperwork for the accord, even after all i have fucked around with it and like the 100 i have spent, screw it...the truck has had 7000 put into in the last year, and i am pickin it up for 2000 and i can pay him whenever i get the money... so ya... i might get the accord if he does pull thru with the ownership paperwork...then fix it n sell it, otherwise...fuck it! thanks alot for your help, this site it tight! maybe i'll be back here in the future peace out
