fuse box compatability?

whaddup! okay so the car has recently developed a short. sometimes when i go to start her, there is nothing. no power what so ever. if i jiggle the battery cables and slap the fuse box (like an old tv set) power comes back. i believe the problem to be either the main cable coming off the positive terminal, or the fuse box. if its the cable, i can cut out the short and splice in a new wire no problem. if its in the fuse box, i have an extra fuse box from an 89 crx dx. does anyone know if the fuse boxes are the same between the accords/civics/preludes. i couldnt imagine honda having manufactured different fuse boxes for the different models, aside from maybe the mounting holes, and i can modify them if needed.

and yes i checked the fuses themselves and they are fine........
