I Have A 1986 Honda Accord Dx 2.0 Carb Motor And I Was Up Grading My Alternator To 165 Amp.when I Got The New Alt. I Started The Swap And Came To Realize That The Harness To My Alt. Is A 4 Wire.the New Alt.was Set Up For 3 Wire.so I Had To Send It Back To Get The 4 Wire Alt.they Said The 3 Wire Was For Carb And The 4 Wire Was For Fuel Injection.can Anyone Tell Me Whats Up With This?

The carb'd motor should be a 3 wire to my knowledge.

Maybe someone replaced the wires at one time?

You can run a 4 Wire on a Carb car, the extra wire is just a data wire for the ECU on efi cars, so it's just a extra wire to carb

Your Right But I Went And Got The 3 Wire Plug And Replaced My 4 Wire And When I Left The Extra Wire Unused My Battery Light Would Not Go Off.so It Must Be Used For Something..
