Well i have to get some tires soon, as well as the prelude arms, and an alignment. Well im probably gonna get some sumitomo tires because there only $45 bucks a pop, and they look to have goo review and decent treadwear, but i was wondering what size to run. I was gonna run 195/60/14, but I saw they offer em in a 205/60/14, and I love wide tires. I have a question, how much wider are the 205s? Do yall think I will have any issues with em?

205's are exactly one centimeter (10mm) wider than 195's. That's less than a half inch. Since the height from ground to bead is 60% of the width the tires will be 12mm (2 x 6) larger in diameter. That equates to about 38mm larger circumference. Here is where I might mess up. For every revolution of your wheel that means you are going an extra 38mm, or an inch and a half. That's probably not enough to make a significant difference on your speedo. So, if you want 'em go for it.

Well if theyre not any wider...too much then I dont guess ill get em lol. If its just the cricum. Ill probably pass, but who knows, I mean hell theyre only 1 buck more per tire for the 205s.

what size are on those new wheels now? wider and slightly taller than those would look better IMO:)
ON the 40 offest 15 inch I have, the 205 wants to scrub some in the back, but I am not running anything special suspension wise at this time. 195 fit very nicely but, others here have run up to 225 without issues, depends on the true offset and the brand tire. JUst ask them to let you see both tires side by side for an idea. 14 inch, you shouldn't have much problem I would imagine...

you should get like 205/55/14 or 205/50/14.

I would but only ones I can find in those sizes are drag slicks. XD The sumitomos are the only 205/60/14s I could find for a good price so ill probably get them depending on funds next week.

Yeah those seem to be ok, but the sumitomos are rated a good bit better and are 2 bucks cheaper per tire. PLus they dont have the kumhos in 14s sized. 205/60/14 anyway

I've got a set of Sumitomo HR200's ready to go on mine. As soon as i get the axles/struts/alnmnt done.
'tomo's have always been great for me. Their performance is comparable/better than tires costing much more.

I wasnted Potenza re96 pole positions, but theyre 76 bucks a tire, and the sumis are only 45...so thats what im going with. Yeah I would order em off tire rack but ill need em the day i buy them, so thats too bad, bu im pretty sure i can get discount tire to honor their price. :)

My last Accord came with 205/60 on the factory 14" wheels. They worked fine, but I prefer the 195/60 that I have now. The steering response seems better--probably because the sidewalls aren't bowed out as much. Acceleration will also be a bit better with 195s.

You need a wider wheel to gain much benefit from a wider tire. Increasing the rolling diameter hurts performance in a number of ways.

Yeah im still unsure of what size im gonna get but i think im still gonna do the 205s, but who knows.

if you want wider so you can stick in the turns better, but dont like the added sidewall flex or the added stiffness of turning the wheel, try getting 195s with a blocked sidewall. the tire is reinforced at the corners where the tread meets the sidewall, and its more square. you will have more tread on the ground, they corner better, and there is less sidewall flex. goodyear american eagles have this if you want to see an example.
