If you want loud get a pair of Kicker Solo's, 15 inch, deep as hell...but they require slightly deep pockets to buy... other then those I would suggest Vulfenhag, I have had great experience with them.

I suggest Memphis all the way! I have a memphis amp that makes my subs dumb under-powered mind you. And my buddy has a single memphis m3 12" running on a factory taurus stereo that sounds pretty sick. Enough said, buy memphis!!!

^^^ With proper power the alpines are super loud for the money in a ported box I find.

i would go orion all the way but i suggest the old hcca comps you can find them in certain placs still i have a set of 2 10s that handle 1200 rms a piece but i was only sending 1000 out ofd a jl 1000/1 amp that was big money but you want to talk about loud i was probably hitting about 140 db out of a vented enclosure

Kicker L7's (square) or Alpine type E's I have a 10 L7 a few years old and it hits hard. Rattles the hatch. I'm tryin to sell some 10 MTX's in a memphis box. The MTX's are old but sound decent. The Memphis boxes (Ported) are decent. The subs arent bad either

very true very true i mean if you have a setup wit crossovers and everything to totally tune
the amp just right yeah you could make that sony slap just as hard but theres no way in hell a sony is going to last as long as the jl would at its full potential

sick thats a steal but is it a true 1500 watts or is that the peak of it because the jls what they read say 1000/1 or 500/1 thats a true 1000 watts rms at 1 ohm or a true 500 watts rms at 1 ohm and is that rockford 1 ohm stable is the question

well yes thats totally true there arent many subs that can do that i was just saying that they have alot of capabilities thats all but its all opinion anyway pretty much all amps and subs what you do is try to find the least expensive but best one you can i mean im not bashing on any brand just stating opinions

First off... I think you were typing a little fast... Subs that are 1 ohm stable?? Just to clear stuff up, you were thinking amps.

My Hifonics amp is 1 ohm stable, hell! I've even gone down to .66 (counting impedence rise) on that amp for close to 30 minutes full power... Didn't hit protect, but I don't think I will ever abuse it like that again.

Best bang for the buck sub under $200 Per is definitely, undoubtably, the 2006+ Alpine Type R.

Rated for 500 watts RMS. I've seen them take 1100 RMS daily... Of Course, the box has everything to do with handling (I can make a 50watt 6 1/2" last 5 minutes with 500 watts clean), but they are meant for abuse, not picky about their boxes, although in a Honda, I would recommend (on 500-750watts RMS) at least 2cu.ft. ported to 33hz.

My buddy had one in his CRX with one of my CRX type boxes (look it up... an acual box) with a Hifonics BX605 on it at 1 ohm (1222D sub), and I must say... That thing was loud compared to all the Circuit City crap, and far better than Xplods.

I've heard Type E's get pretty loud, also, if you only want to spend $10 per sub.

The Type-E's aren't bad. My buddy has some 12' E's (in sealed box) in his grand prix and they pound like nothing. BTW does anyone know if subs blow easier if the are in a ported box rather than sealed?

Bass Man

They are easier to blow in ported if you don't match the box tuning to a subsonic filter.
I blew a 500watt RMS Audiobahn 15 with 500 watts in about 15 seconds worth of play because my program screwed up and told me to build a 7" port where there should have been a 15" port. The tuning was around 52hz where it should have been around 35hz, so I turned up a song, the sub bottomed out, and I blew it up cuz I was pissed and cranked my bass boost.

Long story short, I take the responce into consideration. If you tune a box 10hz above the responce drop-off (ie; 25hz drop-off = 35hz) then you shouldn't worry about over-excurding.

None of the subs I've owned ever liked sealed boxes, so I build huge ported boxes, and that is why I am louder than the average person.
