So - Hi all from Italy... I work for the Department of Defence here. I just bought a u.s. standard 89 accord lxi coupe. I bought it from a school teacher with just 55k miles on it!! I really lucked out.

Anyway I have two questions for you all

1. Is there a howto guide on stereo head unit installs? I am not sure how the dash comes apart.

2. Is there a interface to the On-Board diagnostic computer that I can plug my laptop into and see what is going on with the engine? It is idling a bit rough and I wanted to see what the oxygen sensor is reporting.

Thanks in advance!!

welcome,
1. to take the stereo out you will need to remove two screws on the back of the stereo. if you look under the dash, the backof the stereo screwed with two screws. take them out and pull it out. you will need adaptert to connect to the stereo or you can look here http://www.installdr.com/home.html
2. i don't think there is a way to plug the computer.
the computer is under the driver seat. if you want to read the codes, you will have to move seat forward, remove the plustic to reveal hole and look for LED to blink. count how many times and look here for your answer http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=185
the other thing is that your car may need a tune up, if it hasn't been done in a long time.
change the fuel filter, check plugs, and wires, distributor cap or distributor rotor.
anyway, i hope i helped ya in some way.

For the O2 sensor, download the shop manual from Paul-aerodeck's site. You need a multimeter but that's how I always test my O2. You need to read the voltage coming out of the sensor after warming the car up and reving it a certain way (better for you to download it than me give wrong instructions).
