Frist un bolt the the top nut that bolts the hydrolic mount to the mounting plate thing lol
then jack up the engine i chose here to jack
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff103/Dark_Accord/1988-Honda-Accord-LX-i/resurrected/engine-mount/motormount011.jpg

once the mount is removed it should look like this
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff103/Dark_Accord/1988-Honda-Accord-LX-i/resurrected/engine-mount/motormount001.jpg
now bolt on the 8687 mounting plate
now the rear mount bolts here
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff103/Dark_Accord/1988-Honda-Accord-LX-i/resurrected/engine-mount/078e8293.jpg
bolt it on then lower the engine down on to it and put the nut back on tighting it down once your done it should look like this

its a much stiffer mount and wont break as much as hydraulic ones do

It may not be very durable since the front mount supports the weight of the engine, but must tolerate the upward motion as the engine reacts to the force at the wheels. The rear mount was only designed to deal with one direction of force since the weight and torque reaction both go in the same direction at the rear of the engine.

^^^
just proves where there is a will there is a way
I am sure this rig will not surpress vibrations, even so, it should work for a little while esp if you get the dog bone good and tight with some neoprene bushings or what have you, AND the rear mount is in good condition.

You can't use the USDM bracket if you use the rear mount in the front. The cars that came from the factory with that mount had a different bracket. I have that bracket here and compared it with the old one.

I fail to see any permanent benefit..

My observation has been that even though the rear mount doesn't actually "break" it does end up with a permanently altered "squashed down" shape. That's why you pretty much have to replace the rear mount when you replace the front. If you don't you will still have a lot of vibration. These mounts are not the greatest in the world, but they do last about 100-150K miles between changes. So, like ChaseR, I fail to see any long term benefit.

Cah, this will work ok for a temporary fix. Like everyone else said, this mount was designed for the rear not the front. Instead of wasting your money on a new rear mount, get yourself a new front hydraulic mount.

That is a good price. I paid over $50 for the one I just got from Majestic. I changed out both of mine last month. It made a HUGE difference.

Well, there is no harm in using this mount in the front. The A16A uses that mount anyway.

Ehh, I fail to see what's hydraulic about your old front mount? You americans keep talking about hydraulic front mounts yet I have never seen proof of any? The ones we have are just plain rubber and look excactly the same as Yours, I havent bothered checking part numbers but I'm betting they are the same.

the front mount is hydraulic inside,it was a big deal when honda came out with it in the eighties. benifit i see here is using those brackets and making a poly mount to go between them.
