It appears to be ready to bolt right in, automatic which I will tolerate for now. Yes is it a genuine JDM B20A for Accord.
This motor came from a member who bought it at an importer here local, several years ago. It has been sitting in a garage covered up. I am pretty sure this motor does not have over 60k miles on it, likely less.
It looks like it was taken out of a car only a couple years old, no oil seepage, everything about it looks brand new.
I will need to run it carbed for a while until I can afford to buy EFI swap parts, as well it will be an automatic probably forever unless somebody comes up with a pure solution for adapting a prelude or other 5 speed tranny to it.

I wish I had half the motor that thing has...

I think Japan requires motor swaps every 30k miles.

good find dude
b20a the only way to go
dont know ow it would run on carbs
surely some one here would have the spares for the efi conversion

from what my local importer tells me the japs have a major inspection every 4-5 years which requires most of the susp to be replaces.
springs,struts,all arms and joints etc
so its cheaper to dump the car than get the work done
thats why all the import motors and cars have f all miles on them
my wife just bought a mazda 323 sp20 with 55,000 km on the clock and its a minter
has tv/dvd,sat nav,good stereo,nardi steering wheel,tiptronic tranny,17s with 215/40s
all that cost bout $10k us
just got quoted $200nz for a 40,000km b20a at my local motor importer.
am sure b20a if thats what he's still calling himself had a spare si you might be able to con the parts off

efi swap should be a walk in the park. get a LXI and steal all the loom and use the intake off it with a ph3 ecu and maybe you will need the ph3 ecu and the ignitor and play with the ignition wiring a bit and it will run mint

Dude, I have the EFI swap parts, sans the gas tank. Make an "offer" and take them off my hands. The catch is that you have to pull them.

that's funny
Like Im gonna drive what, 250 miles one way and use the gas that it takes to do that, and you are going to charge me to remove junk from your yard??
man that was a good one!.. seriousley, thanks for the offer though.
I can get the parts at the local pick a part, when I have time. My next trip there will be for a teg dist. .
Oh does a hatchback gas tank fit a sedan?

Man I need to check the site more often. At first I really looked for an egg. Then I though what the hell are you doing with a B20. Congrats on a local find. How much did it cost you?:deal: So which car is it going into? I want to see it when you get it in.

^^^^ he was looking for an egg.. classic :)

I went to Atlanta to get it, it was posted here for sale two weeks ago. I will not say how much I paid for it, it was a really good deal. I don't feel too bad though because the seller didn't pay a lot for it either, the importer had it in inventory and didn't have any use for it, according to him.

I will say this, I couldn't find a running A20, tranny, all accessories bolted to it., incl. a nippo AC compressor. in the JY for the price I paid for this. And not with the low mileage either, it looks like it was in a time capsule. I will get some better pictures up and start a swap thread soon.
I don't know which car to put it in, true a dilemma. I just got the gold LX up and running good again two weekends ago, and the other DX is running good too except for oem carb issues. Maybe a lxi coupe w, sunroof will turn up in the iwanta paper in the next couple of weeks.

Tanks are the same.

Yeahm I figured you wouldn't take it, but I've been trying to get the useful parts from those cars. I just don't want to send decent parts to the scrapper. Rather give them away.

I know I know

The wire harness is cut, and the oem injectors are missing.. the guy gave me "the injectors" but they look too dirty to have been in this motor, I think they came off his A20.
Just seems so much easier at this point to make it carbed, we will see.

wow, a black easter egg, broke the bunny's ears, bunny files workmans comp.. somebody ain't reading.. lol
that's cool

The newer 600 holleys are very tunable, as well, the holley 2300 two barrel which is a 4160 cut in half may be interesting too.
The transmission cable has to be in range of the throttle motion of whatever carb I use, so that adds another issue of how to tune the carb in regards to transistion stage, and WOT.
I will be using the automatic so I can't beat it too hard, I am sure Honda did not put a transmission in all these cars that could not handle the engine (somewhat lol) . It looks like the bell housing issue is going to be a tough one to get around for the five speed. I am not going to let that hold up enjoying the motor meanwhile.

You're going to need a trans cooler. We did that a while back and had NO issues beating on the autos we were running.

We were running A20's, though.

Ha haa. I hope to get started the weekend with finding a teg diizzy and deciding which car to put it in.
Looking back at the picture, it is kinda an i-spy thing, there are lots of little things in the pic including two other cars, my wife's vic and the DX.

Tranny cooler, yep good idea, I have a Ac condensor about 18X20 inches that was supposed to go on an old dodge colt for aftermarket air, I wonder if that would be ok or too much. The cooloer probably needs to be pretty small so it can flow.

well if you want speed remember the DX is lighter then the LX since it has no power options :)
but if u want more luxery then the lx would be the good

nope, it's on the hook in front of the car, I have about a dozen excuses why it's not in. so yep none of them count. lol
I had a bunch of other parts I got at the JY to put on the DX car last weekend, and the LX I drove to work some this week, man it runs so good now I hate to yank out that motor, but IM GONNA. I found a 38/38 weber for it this week, so I can say the project is making steady progress !

hey are these FI intake manifolds worth anything , are they better than the A20A3 FI, I know they have better injectors (I didn't get the original injectors I think they got swapped) but what about the rest of it?

I thought I read the injectors were bigger on the B20A?

BassMan I have another weber here with manual choke, I have not decided which one but I am putting it on the other Accord I have. I was planning on making up a turn key swap complete with manifold for someone to buy, so I can recoupe some of my expense for the 38/38.
