Alright, since the other thread was getting a huge response, and toneloc had the good idea of making a new thread, here it is. Lets get some ideas in, and try and get something that works out for all who are interested. There was talk about meeting at E-town, but lets at least get something started guys...

So we have to decide on a central location, and also a general date (month).

I don't know shit about E-town, or NJ for that matter, but I do live very close to Skyline Drive (Northern Virginia). It's a very scenic route with good places to take pictures, and its also a fun road, so that's an option if the meet would be held in Virginia.

Anybody else have ideas on locations?

I'm in dammit.

I don't know about going all the way down to Virginia, but I'll go where everyone agrees to meet up.

By the looks of it, we've got about 5 or 6 guys from CT, a coupe from VT and NH, at least one NY, and now a VA, and holy cripe Sam's representin from Louisiana.

Let's get an idea where everyone's at that's willing to make a drive to meet up, and we'll try and come up with something in the middle of everyone to keep it fair for all involved unless some lunatic wants to volunteer themselves to drive 300 mi.

I definitely won't be able to drive the 3g up to CT for a meet. I still think meeting in New Jersey (Englishtown) is a good place. Its a good 4 hours for me, but its manageable, and its not THAT far from everybody.

markmdz89hatch
05-01-2008, 05:16 AM
Guys, I'm not opposed to an E-town meet, but being that we've done that along with meeting at a park for dogs and burgers in the past, it seems that everyone gets a better chance to just hang out and bs with one another when we meet at a park or something like that.

Does anyone live around e-town? Is there a public park nearby that we can all catch up at after watching some pulls at e-town?

How's that sound to everyone? How 'bout all you VT, NH, Maine and Mass guys? Is that too far to ask you to go for a meet?

e-town is just an idea right now, we're still trying to figure out the best place for everyone. Anyone else out there have any suggestions?

damn you for posting that pic Steve, damn you!

i like the bbq idea...

it would be easier (especially for my POS car  ) if it were further north...but ld definetly try and do etown (ill buy a big pillow to sit on for the ride down )

Toneloc5145
05-01-2008, 07:16 AM
The question is, if we do E-town, is anybody going to run there? I know I won't with my stock ass car. lol. If not then it's pointless to have it there, and I also like the idea of a bbq. And maybe we can cruise after that.

markmdz89hatch
05-01-2008, 07:23 AM
Steve, you plan on making any pulls if we go there?

...better yet, if they're doing auto-x, you gonna let me move that beast around a few cones? You know I'll drive your car nice, and won't push it too hard.

88LXi68
05-01-2008, 07:51 AM
if we went there I would run. I have gotten over the fear of running the car far from home.

im from that area, there are a few parks around there, and shopping plaza's this weekend tho NOPI will be there , was gonna go with the drift team but i have to move back home and finals to deal with . anyway thers alot of parks within a 20 min drive from the track, plenty of places in howell, jackson, freehold and farmingdale. i dunno what they run on the weekends at e-town, i do know they got drag/drift sessions weds. and thurs nights plus its like 40 bux to run your car or something , if anyone isnt opposed to this we could meet at my house then drive to a few of the parks that are nice in jackson/freehold?

russiankid

I won't run just because its pointless, but I may consider it. As of right now I am not up to running it. I will however drive to the meet, I am about 3 hours from NJ so I can do that.

$40 seems a lot for me. I am going to be tight on money after the move, so I won't run then. I'd still drive out to see someones 3gen do a run. We can definitely meet up at someones house just so we all get together then have a cruise to a park, snap pics etc...

Alright guys, I am going to try and make it out to this meet. It is held June 22nd. The details are at this link.
http://www.tristatetuners.com/forum/showpost.php?p=914266&postcount=1

Here are the rules:
http://www.tristatetuners.com/forum/showpost.php?p=20717&postcount=1

So basically, don't be an asshole. No burn outs, revving your engine, clean up your own mess, and respect everyone.

If anyone wants to meet up prior to the meet so we can roll together just let me know. I will post in here as time comes closer if I am 100% sure I am going. So far, it looks like I am.

Yeah, that is why if any of you guys come out, please follow the rules. I don't want 3geez to get a bad name because you cannot follow some simple rules. This will be my first actual meet that I will attend, and since I told the guys on the other forum that I may be brining some people from another forum; I want to make a good first impression.

That was just a date I pulled outta my ass to see if it worked for everyone else, or if someone had any conflicts with it.

Sam's mom's b-day trumps a 3G meet, so let's try a different day. My boy's b-day is the 30th. I also have a b-day party to go to on the 23rd, but I might be able to wriggle my way out of it..

How does the 23rd or the 9th work for everyone else?

Hey Travis, where the hell u been buddy? Are you back in CT again?

Who can meet in or around Philly?

I'm coming from central PA, it seems like there are a mix of responses from PA, NJ & NY so Philly seems pretty central for a fairly wide area.

What do you need to call it a meet? What happens?

I am willing to call around and find a parking lot to meet in, then line up and drive through the city get some pics or find a restaurant to line up in front of. (like they do in my area when the NHRA comes to town)

I know the weather is nasty now but if you're not snowed in who cares? We get together sometime in Feb? It would get it started and maybe we can do another this spring.

welcome to the board man. Philly might be a stretch for a bunch of us because you left out the CT, Mass, VT, and NH guys (I think even some RI and Maine too), who would have a very long ass ride to get there.

Anyway, trying to arrange something in the winter is always a pain because the one thing you can't predict is snow, and unlike rain (in the summer/fall), snow is not really something you can just work through and still hold a decent meet. Not only that, but who wants to hang out and shoot the shit when it's -12° outside?

I vote to try and get something going for summer. Knowing all of us (it would seem that us north-easters are all procrastinators and last-minute'ers) if we start planning it now, there's a little better chance of actually doing something.

welcome to the board man.

If Mark's car is running i will have to have a boosted B20A running as well then....LOL

I held a vigil for 'mice of the 5 prospect garage' last week because they all decided to go for a swim in the 5 gal. bucket of spent motor oil I had in there. Not a good scene. But thanks for you insensitivity. I repeat: Prick!

...no actually it requires a friend of min who has a shitty ass '88 coupe to drag his lazy ass to my house (once the air thaws out) to help resurrect my sad hatch.

I can't help but laugh every time I see your sig and you with your hands over your face. PRICELESS!!

Yeah yeah yeah, I know it's been a while. What was it? 2004 I think was the last time it was on the road. In its current state, I worry that I'll ever be able to get all the parts back on it. it's basically non-existent forward of the firewall.

Thanks for the welcome! I've been "using" since 2005 but have been working overseas for the majority of the past 4 years. The site has been my outlet when not home and able get my hands on my 3gee. So thanks for the outlet!

I realize thats a long ride for you guys I was thinking the PA, NY, NJ, maybe even DC guys (if there are enough on here) to get something started here Mid-Atlantic. It might be easier to put together a New England meet and then if there is some success we can do a North Eastern meet together some time later. (the summer would be best for that bigger meet when the weather is way better for driving)

I think a single day event (or even just an afternoon), might work a little better to start. Philly was just an idea, if we get say 5 people together willing to meet in, i don't know, harrisburg, oxford, manhatten, baltimore, or anyplace. We can toss places around a bit. Lets aim for at least 5 people and a place where no one has to drive more than an hour and half or aim for 6 and no one drives more than 2 hours. Just something simple (

Getting something started seems to be the tough part. Anybody out there willing to give a simple small meet a shot?

No, but your about 2 hours 45 minutes from me according to mapquest. Thats about the same amount of time it takes to drive to my college, which is nothing. We need to get a mid-Atlantic (NJ, PA, MD, VA) meet going, since driving to Maine or Connecticut for a meet is a far stretch for me.

Sorry I was outta touch, I was busy this week test driving and buying an 89 se-i sedan I found in the marketplace. I keep getting "Why would you buy the same car?" These are not the same car, one is a 86 LX-i hatchback and one is a 89 SE-i sedan. "ooo riiight" but with that look in there eye like i'm not firing on all 4. o well.

I live in Wellsville PA. Between Harrisburg and Gettysburg just off route 15. Looks like Oxford is about an hour and 20 mins away. I've got no problem driving further to meet up at a place that would be easier for russiankid. Toneloc seems up for a drive right? I'm going to try that mid-atlantic meet thread I mentioned see if anyone else bites.

holy shit Hal, does that mean you're going to show up?

Haha. Well, maybe. But I might not make it because:

1. It's too far from where I live
2. It's too close to where I live
3. My ball joints are bad
4. My balls ache
5. I have to work that day
6. I don't have to work that day, but have to fix my ball joint
7. The goats ate my insurance card
8. Gas costs too little, so I'm not sacrificing enough.
9. My wife doesn't let me out of the yard on nice days.
10. My wife doesn't let me out of the house on rainy days.
11. My hard drive crashed.
12. My oven might melt down.
13. My dogs might pee on the floor while I'm gone.
14. My prostate might explode during the trip.
15. I'm shipping my car to Germany so I can get $5,000 to decommission it.
16. I'm uncomfortable crossing over into NJ. The gas is watered there.
17. I hear the Amish run puppy mills in PA, so I can't go into that state.
18. You get just a violation for less than an ounce of weed in MA, so the
state is probably overwhelmed with reefer madness and I'm scared to
go there too.
19. RI is too small of a state, makes me nervous.
20. I'm welding my rear doors shut, cutting the B pillar, and making gullwing rear entrances where the windows used to be so I can have a long coupe. The world is full of spies and traitors, and I'm afraid of my innovations being pirated before I'm ready to show them at the next SEMA show.
21. I'm afraid to drive on Sundays, because all the curves are full of drifters going out of their lanes.
22. Not enough loose women at 3G meets.
23. Too many loose women at 3G meets.
24. My car suffers from the ague.
25. My Main Relay, Window Relay, TA sensor, UCA or LCA or Strut Rod or Rear Swing Arm or Sway Bar or a few dozen other bushings might tank, my coolant hoses, a/c hoses, p/s hoses, gas hoses might leak. My tires might not make it because they're bald, my windshield is cracked, or might get cracked, my radiator might leak, my headlights won't go up/down, my oil leaks too much, my clutch slips, my ECU blinks 6 1/2 times, my wheels shake over 50 (but they smooth out over 125), my Bose amplifier might break, my firewall might catch on fire.
26. My doctor says I worry too much, but maybe I can bring him along.

Sometimes I need to work these things through, so OK, if it's not more than 113 miles away, and it's a nice day, and more than 4 people are going to show up, and I don't get Lime (Rock) disease that conflicts, and the 2008 meet is held before 2018, I'll come.

The reason I am doing this is because if we have 3-4 people, that will be a pretty pitiful meet.
