thanks fellaz. I wish i could take credit but i just bought it, so kudos to previous owner. But now its mine

I would never get rid of the 2gee, on NADA its worth more than the 3g. Maybe it'll go to my daughter in 15yrs.
e: Really the reason i got the 3g is to park the 2g and start digging into it.

triple post...tsk, tsk, tsk. Anyway I did have one question and i havent seen it explained on the forum anywhere: Whats the deal with the black trim around the tail lights? Why do some cars have it and some dont?

2ndGenGuy
04-10-2008, 12:23 PM
Coupes have more black trim around the lights than sedans. Also, I believe that the sedans went color matched to black trim on the 87 to 88 facelift. Or vice versa.

Took the bra-cover off and what do i find? exactly what i thought: lots of dirt, and scratches, and scratches with dirt in the scratches and a side of bugs. Worst invention ever.

http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/6186/1011028bv1.jpg

Gave it a bath but the outline of the cover is still there. Couldnt tell if it was a dirt stain or not but i'll get a better look at it tomorrow.

Thanks, always wondered about that. I like the black trim but it also makes the car look 'older' to me.

Yup, 20/20 lol. It has some issues but nothing that cant be fixed. Like that spiffy sunroof doesnt work lol. and there's rust in the wheel wells (ohio car until '04[carfax]). Other than that this thing is cherry .

Back from quasi-vacation.

What'd you use claybar? cleaner polish?

How much did you pay for it?
1500. considering the motors only seen a quarter of its life, i figured it was worth it.

wow, that's hot. what are the plans for it?
DD for now. The first thing i would do though, is drop it, and maybe later a turbo setup.

Had a scare with it today: I was driving it around testing new headlights when suddenly the car goes all exorcist on me. I mean, the dash was
dimming in/out, the indicator lights were blinking randomly, the engine was stumbling, when i turned the headlights off they came back on by themselves
but not in sync and repeatedly one after the other lol! I thought it had some seriously effed up electrical problems. Turns out the positive battery cable was
loose enough to remove by hand(or a slight breeze). Fixed, $0.

Claybar then buffing. A random orbit buffer will be your best friend. I'll bet you can make that paint look new.

God that car is soo clean and perfect. I remember when my car had that little miles. Take care of that thing, it looks like its been well taken care of by the previous owners.

Another thing, most people don't know that you need to take off the bra pretty much everytime you wash the car. Also, the bra needs to be washed from time to time.

good: Got some NGK iridiums and NGK wires, After driving the car for a bit, i started missing that 'weber sound', so I pieced together a short ram out of the stock tubes and an apc filter. Dont worry, it wont stay like this for too long and i'll have an official cai in it.
http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm103/CcordLevel2/100_1087.jpg

bad: Came across a problem though. It's burning something and i dont know what. I have white(?) smoke coming from the valve cover breather (but not from exhaust). First thing that comes to mind is head gasket/crack but there's no coolant loss, no milky oil, no overheating or funky ghostly exhaust clouds.
The first day i got it i checked the oil and there was a little too much in it, now its at the normal level. Today when i pulled the air box out there was a pool of oil in it, but the breather tube was not oil slick inside:wtf:!!
Maybe the excess oil was blown out through the breather and now theres just residual burn-off?? sounds far fetched. has anyone seen or heard of this? Also the timing is fucked and I knew it but have been putting it off. When i checked it today i couldnt find the marks with just my inductive light. Could timing play a part in the smoke? I appreciate any help, and I will take video tomorrow.
