I purchased a Bose amp from Hash_man_Se_i on this site and he lives in Canada. The amp on the left is the one I received from him, the one on the right is the one that was already in my car. I noticed that they were quite a bit different. However, when I installed the Canadian one it worked just fine. I just figured i'd post this image up to show the difference. Oh, and sorry about the huge image size, I was too lazy to shrink it.

Whoa, when you said they were different, I wasn't thinking that... they are completely different things. Kinda wild, and all Se-i's I have seen here have the kind of amp i sent you.

Well, the most interesting thing is that it works perfectly. I really can't figure out why they would make a part like this so different for two different countries.

Ima gonna thieve the Bose amp out of my moms '93 SE.

Along with the Alpine deck & Polk speakers I installed before I gave the car to her. None of which she ever turns on, by the way.

No, that's the original one. My family has had this car since it was new and we've never touched it. I also have a second one that I had purchased from another forum member that looked like the one I have.

I'd like to get my hands on a few of those amps. I have been doing some hobby repair of them, and they seem to be hard to come about in good working order. What would you be looking to get from the dead ones. If you have one of each dead, that's most awesome, that way, the internals can be compared.

Sure, I have two of the ones that say Bose on them that are dead, and one of the Canadian one. I'd like to get $20 for all three of them since that's what I paid to get them (yeah, had to buy 4 to get one working one). However, i'd be willing to give you $15 of that money back in exchange for a functioning USA one if you can somehow repair it. PM me and tell me what you think, i'm open to your opinion on those prices.

shipped or plus shipping? I'd imagine you can get them all into a flat-rate USPS box. Ship insured and insure them for $150 (the max for the $1.30, IIRC).

My experience with these things leads me to believe that they're full of bad capacitors and voltage regulators.

that would be plus shipping. I'm not exactly sure how much that would cost.
