Hello all,
Yea I'm still kickin.. I don't get much time to get on the board as of late though.. But I stop thru when I can..
I know I posted this in the 3g general section and I will get to that in a minute.. I also know that parts of this should be in the market section, but please bear with me, oh I'm not a big fan of the new trading post..

Anywayz, I'm so extremely miserable in MA.
I don't have to many good notes, although the ones I do, rank the highest.
Wife and son are healthy and well, my sons getting huge! :) 5 months now, damn time flys..
http://a822.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/99/l_44c6a5642560eeaf3975b2c1a10457bd.jpg
Wifey (and I) got a 2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i 5 door hatch (and love it!!)
http://a476.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/123/l_15aeab35515a9deed5136e73d7c927f3.jpg

Thats almost all the good notes I have unfortunatly..
The Bad
First off I entirely screwed myself job wise, I was at a shop in Newton, MA.. (20 frickin miles each way!!)
I was hired to do TB's and HG's.. But ended up only doin alignments and alot of effin oil changes.. Needless to say I hated it!! So then I got an interview at the gas station on base, was told I could start the following monday.. Told the shop I was at the friday would be my last day and they said I could just go, so I packed up my box and left.. Then I ended up getting flagged for a mistake I made when I was 16, for a shoplifting charge 8 years ago!!.. I thought I learned my lesson back then, cause I've never stole since, but it still haunts me..
So, I'm currently out of a job..

My suby was down from 2 weeks after I started at the shop till last week.. I blew the tranny again, so while I had it out I rebuilt the motor.. Now I cant get it to run right and I've gone through every diag, procedure I can think of, and double check everything.. So I'm still tryin to figure that mess out.. It's friggen mind boggling!!

So now to brass tacks
This kills me.. But It's a possibility I have to explore givin, current circumstances..

First I'll say, Does anyone know where I can get a coupe or hatch f/i chassis/body in good condition cheap and soon? I only need the shell, no motor, no suspension, just the shell.

If I can't fine one..

I'm looking into parting out the car...

If I do, I will not part the motor.

Motor is fresh build,
.020 OS pistons
completely balanced
P&P head
Colt stage 2 cam
upgraded spring tension
7 angle valve job
Golden Eagle Adjustable cam gear
All new seals
New Oil and Water pump
New Oil pick up
Stage 3 Spec 6puck clutch
Lightened stock flywheel
Gasket match intake mani

I'm looking for around $1100 to $1200 for the motor set incl. 5speed trans
I'll also consider throwing in the custom ITB set-up for another $200 with the motor only..

Also the interior and suspension compontents

Intereior
Prelude Si seats recovered in blue and black tweed (no headrests)
APC race seat, recovered in blue and black tweed
Center armrest console with blue and black armrest and relocated window swtiches
Cup holders
Spoon (knockoff ebay) steering wheel
Custom Short shifter
Indiglo gauge faces

Tockico blues and intraxx 1.5 drop springs
Sei brack package
Sei Alloy rims (re-paited) with brand new Avid H4s

amongs many other things..

I'll only sell if it looks like I'll be able to get ride of most everything..
I hate to do this because of all the money blood sweat and tears I put into this car.. But I gotta do something with it and finishing it hasn't been on the priority list lately, unfortunately...

Make any offers if interested, and I'll take accept dibs for the time being too, until the sale becomes official..
If your interested in any other parts or have question concerning the already listed ones feel free to ask..

Pics upon request..

That sucks to hear jigga, We all make stupid mistakes when we are kids, sucks that it had to stick with you still. I'm pretty sure up here once you hit 18 any charges from when you were under age get wiped clean.

Hopefully things start to work out better for you soon, nice suby, and your kid is super cute. Best of luck.

I was always under the impression that it got sealed away when you turn 18 too.. But I think that is for basic checks.. 2drSE-i is right.. AAFES - (army air force exchange services) handles all hiring for civilian positioins on base.. It's a gov. contracted business.. There for it's the same background check as if you were goin in the military or applying for civil services..
It's still BS..

As far as the car goes.. I really don't wanna get rid of it.. But I don't have the time money or patients to finish the body work.. If I could find a clean coupe or hatch shell I'd just swap everything over.. That is what I'd really really like to do..

But if that don't happen...

Who wants to buy my schtuff!?!?!?

This was in Bargain News in CT. He didn't answer the phone so don't know if it's f.i. or not:

<1988 HONDA ACCORD HATCHBACK
many new parts, well maintained, low miles, alloy wheels, $700 OBO. (203) 937-8094 . New Haven, CT>

I live about 40 minutes from New Haven so if you can come to terms with him I could run up and take a look for you.

hmm, that's interesting, bc i was just reading an article the other day that said the armed services are looking the other way on more and more convicted felons and letting them in including people with weapons charges, assault charges, drug traffic charges, etc. so definitely a big :thumbdn: on this and hopefully everything works better for you after all.

Well I got the car runnin right!!! I'm so happy.. It's like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders..
Turned out.. Some how my valve adjustment was waaaayyy off on cylinder 3.. I knew from the get go that there was something wrong with 3, I could hear it when the car was running.. So I finally got time to do a comp test and was getting no compression on 3.. The intake valves weren't even openin at the right time, lol.. But she's fixed!!

On another note, everytime I drive by my accord sitting at the end of the parking lot, I get a hurt in my heart.. I can't sell it..

Many of you may not know the whole story behind it.. But the accord is the reason I know anything about cars.. No exageration..

Years ago when I bought it in Va. Beach, It wasn't in great shape.. I took it to pepboys to get it inspected and they gave me a laundry list of problems, $1500 dollars worth.. Since I only knew how to change a tire and maybe a starter at the time, i didn't argue.. I later found out, that a majority of the stuff I didn't even need for inspection.. I vowed from that time forward, that I would learn to work on my cars myself.. And thats what I did.. A huge part of it was because of 3geez, I can't even express my sincere gratitude for this site and the people who make it what it is..

So that is why I can't get rid of the accord.. Reguardless of how much of a headache it gives me.. That car has changed my life more then I ever thought a non-living hunk of metal, plastic, and rubber ever could..

I feel your pain, it sucks when a stupid decision as a kid comes back to haunt you. I did something dumb when I was younger and now I went to buy a handgun and it's preventing me from doing so. Very annoying. I guess best thing you can do is just keep applying with civilian firms, they probably won't be so rigorous in their checks.

Update

So I finally got a YOB!! I'm back to doin custom exhausts.. I like it and it pays the bills so I'm happy.. The shop I work at is THE SHIT!! And everyone there is soooo cool...
Oh yea.. On a side note...
shhhh..... I'm gettin another 3g on saturday YaY!!!
I'm so frickin excited!! I'm pickin up an LXi for 500.. The body is straight, and thats really all I'm concerned with.. So I'll be swappin most everything over from my accord project to the new one so that I can drive it!! Then my current accord gets reconstructive surgery and open heart too.. We'll just put it this way.. If swappin say a Bseries honda engine is like a human to human heart transplant.. My baby's gonna have the heart of a full grown gorilla..
Here's a little let-in on the plans.. SVX H-6 TT(custom) AWD and it'll sit snugly right in the engine bay of my good ole accord which is going to be completely stripped of all the body work i've done, stripped of all interior and just have a roll cage installed.. She's going to become a track monster...

Gotta head out the door to work.. But I'll be intouch with you fellas.. I'm so excited I'm gonna have a 3g to drive again soon!!

Oh yea.. I also meant to ask.. Will I have any issues bolting up my suspension from the coupe to a 4door? I settled on gettin a sedan for the "child seat" issue.. So yea.. A simple yes or no will do me good.. I can search when I get off work.. But right now, i'm out the door...

Yep, coupe, sedan, hatch, aerodeck, whatever, all struts/springs are the same. The lower forks, front and rear knuckles, and sway bars are different between trim levels and years, but nothing specific to body style. Hell, even ALL fenders are the same (minus EDM sedan).

edit: congrats on the job. oh and where is your shop? (specifically how far from CT?)

oh oh oh, come get my car while you're at it and hook me up with a SS 2.25" cat-back. While it's there, you might as well make me a test pipe too. ...and seeing as all that's getting done, why not modify my DC header so the 2-1 section drops to a 2.25" collector too. ...and I'll need an extra O2 bung for a wideband. ...um, I think that's about all I got for now.

Congrats on the car from Avon too. You should really check out the thread in Let's Meet and think about bringing that new 3G out to the meet.

Dude that is so simple I could do it in my sleep :D ... I'll let you know on an estimate when I take my car in and do it up.. As far as the test pipe, thats ify.. But you've givin me an idea :D ... The only unfortunate thing about doin the exhaust is it'd be crush bent..
Before I decided to buy this car, i was gettin ready to order a bunch of mandrel bends to put together a 2.5"SS exhaust for the R.S... But that got put on the back burner for the moment.. I might look into making a bolt up system for the 3g with mandrel bends...

But yea if you would happen to be in the area, i'll do my best to make sure you get a decent price, and gaurantee topclass work..

And to everyone else, thank you very much...
