What's up? My name is Bobby and I just got a 84 Accord LX Hatchback from my landlord for $50. It has 200k and needs a little work. I just got it to my house yesterday and got it running, but on carb cleaner. Doesn't look like the fuel pump is working, so I'll be replacing that. My other car is a big-ish turbo 90 Talon AWD with 1000cc injectors, hence the reason for a daily driver. :thumbdn:

Sounds about right, mine is mostly reliable though. I haven't had any issues in about a year even bashing on it often. It's a built motor though. :hsugh:

that is the most aerodynamic Rambler AMC ever, what can I say :welcome:

the Honda probably has some pretty stale gas in it too

The Honda had no gas and they have electric fuel pumps, right? I'm assuming they ran it out of gas a time or two killing the pump in the process.

My talon has the aerodynamics of a door wedge. :/

I've found those Honda (actually Mitsubishi built) pumps to be pretty reliable for the most part. My experience is that they'll spring a leak and start a fire before they actually stop pumping gas. If it's sat for a while, you might consider giving the pump a smack with something, it's a reciprocating assembly inside with a small breaker circuit at one end to trigger the cycling. Sometimes they get stuck. It also relies on ignition signal to function, so you need to be cranking in order to get it to work. I've found it best to prime the carb with a little gas to get the car going. Once the pump starts, you'll hear it. Clackclack-clack-clack--clack----clack---and so on. They're actually pretty loud.

Nice talon, by the way.

So you know what's weird about that whole ignition signal thing? When I installed my Holley fuel pump, I hooked it to the stock wires, and the noisy piece of shit comes on as soon as you turn the key on. :wtf:

Weird. I know on my cars you need to be cranking to even get a test light going.

Where can I find what I need to hit....

It's directly in front of the rear wheel well, behind the rocker panel and above a small skid plate thingy. You might consider popping the leads off and checking for power while you're down there, I can never find the right fuse for it.

Nice deal on the 84 good luck with it. I know the DSM's had timing belt issues. Looks decent though.:welcome:
