Ok so I bought a new accord and the clutch pedal on this one engages almost right away, about 2 inches from the ground. I was wondering if you can adjust the play in the pedal or am i stuck this way?

clutch should engage as soon as you let it go.
2in i think it too much.
get haynes or chilton manual

Well the clutch on my old 88 and my dads 88 both engage kinda high and on this 86 it engages right near the floor. I was asking because of that reason and if i can adjust it so it engages a bit higher.

Yes if you look down on the right side of the engine block, you should see what looks like a plastic nut attached to a cable. Pull up on the net and screw it in or out depending on how you want it adjusting. Once you drop it down then it is locked..so make sure you pull up before adjusting. It isnt to hard, just look for it close to the tranny. Look right off the upper right corner of the battery, below the rad hoses.

Nate.

when i bought my car, back in 99, my clutch sucked. it was grabbing when i almost take my foot of the clutch pedal. i changed the clutch last summer, and it is been nice since than, except after a few burn out i lost like 20000 miles of it for sure. so i am gonna change it next summer for a heavy one.
if you are going to change the clutch, get something better than clutch from autozone.

yesh most mechanics don't know that there should be a play in the arm ! they just tighten the nut ! ( mine was like that after the clutch jon ! )
