Ok, like the title says... ...that's what I need. I have someone that's willing to sell me an older set of dual weber sidedrafts (40's) already on a manifold. I know that the manifold won't fit my car b/c it's off an old MG, but hey. He only wants 300 for all that.

Now all i need to do is find out what the hell to do for the manifold to make this setup work..

Anyone out there do this yet? Can you help me out with the details?

Search for my old threads on it... I'm not typing it all again. The picture links are dead but can be found here http://68.81.205.135:3000/accordpics/dcoe_manifold/.

I'm doing this conversion, too. I have all of Andy's pictures and comments from the board in a Word document, if you want it. It was essential to me in getting the manifold custom made. You can see the pics of my manifold here:
http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6385

The total cost of the manifold for me was $250 (parts, machining & welding). I'm putting in a lot of hours porting it so the runners and flanges match up perfectly (check the pics out, you'll see what I mean).

The total conversion is costing me no more than $500. I'm doing all the work myself, except the custom manifold.

If you want to do this, I'll be glad to answer questions and help you through the process.

You might want to search a little harder most my threads and posts are for Twin weber DCOE powered engines and with respect to the others mine are probably some of the most powerfull to date with stock blocks. Used stainless steel with mine with a water jet cut flange that had 6.5" runners the tubes were made in such a way that it creates a nice venturi effect inside. Btw should look at getting some DCOE 45's as with any kinda mods the 40's are too small for our engines. It is possible to bore the chokes out to bigger size than what they are our engines love to go big on the chokes so if you can get them machined to 38-40mm that would be ideal.

Read someone is matching the manifolds perfectly, this is not allways needed but what you do need to do is to make sure that the inlet ports are bigger than the inlet manifold ones that meet it and that the inlet port mouths are trumpet shaped this helps gas reversion and also fuel and air mixture as it enters the port. It's not allways about port velocity on engines and even more so with running carbs the more air and fuel you can get mixed up the better.

Heres the most recent one still on the first page of threads have a butchers if you need more pics visit my myspace page username rjudgey.

The engine is running like a champ and when cruising at 75mph on the highway i can get 350 miles from a 60litre tank which isn't too bad considering the crap exhaust and the cam and the jetting settings!!
