on this episode of pico's speed shop we installed an MSD 6AL box, guages(night pics to come) and a JDM map light...pics on the way also...and i wanted to share some pics with you guys to see what im running under my hood

at first i didnt but when i was coming in the freeway i did notice a more constant pull in the RPM range...i threw in my 6k rpm limiter...so il stay out of redline alot.....i was reading that at low rpms the box sparks like 3 times...so it burns the fuel more evenly.


one more step closer to turbo?..hehe

Falken FK-452's, probably 215/40 16's or 205/40 17's...
I like them... Quite a lot! But $100 a tire is something I leave for my Samurai, not my DD.
Funny, cuz they don't make them under 16", but it looks like you have a good 2 1/2" of rubber on either side of your rear wheel.

yeah thats how it feels just like when i put in my coil...it felt more like a constant pull...but this one is better...feels good not revving it up that high because low end is more constant.

Looking good in that engine bay. You just need some of them Spectre plug wire holders.

from the looks of it the rims in one of the pics they look alot like your's! 17's polished lip and all.

yeah im still running on 157k stock mounts...i wanted to go solid mounts but im thinking of buying new ones and making them poly...because my engine rocks back and forth and i noticed it when i was at the dyno. better mounts would give me more power to the ground.


How much hp does the box give you? Was it hard to hook up?

the box does not give you hp its just a more constant spark so lets say if i did a pull and my engine only put out like 115 hp and on the next it will only put out like 108 because more stock ignitions cant keep a hot spark over 5k RPM....its all about consistency...but yeah my low end torque is way better now i dont have to rev as high

you should get the ST rear sway, especially if you aren't going to have the konis for awhile

btw, my msd blaster helped alot with idle and low rpm

I didn't notive anything between my stock coil and my Super Stock, so maybe an ignition box could be my next purchase. Does that have a Rev Limiter? Can you make a launch controller out of it?

yes and with the added 2 step or 3 step yes.

the msd box retails for 220 USD...but i paid like 150 off some guy that never installed it.
you can find them on ebay for like 180

yup....they are 16 inch rota slipstream with 205/50/16 falken 452....i love the set up....i rub in the back a bit....feels more stable at high speeds.
