Btw also getting a JBL GTQ200 to run the Infinity 6x9's! 2x100w @ 4o, perfect for my 100w speex :-D and just going to let the 5.25's chill w/ 40w because they're rated 45w and sound good so I'm not going to spend another 50 or 60 bucks on a little amp to give them only 5 more watts than they're getting from the Jensen head right now. Unless I found out that 4x40 on the head is peak and not RMS in which case I could approx double (?) wattage to those door cones. that would be phat.. does anyone know if the Jensen 440cdk is 4x40 rms or peak?

decks are rated in peak... that's how you see crazy figures like 60x4 and shit... in realitly, rms is around 25... for yours, about 17...

OK GETTING LITTLE AMP FOR DOOR CONES YAY

If you want clean, clear sound from the door and rear deck speakers, an amp is in order. Even a small one will do. Otherwise the puny little amp chip in the head unit will overdrive and clip, causing distortion. It doesn't take as much power to drive mids and tweets as it does subs.
