Isn't funny how every place that has any hp numbers listed for the B20A's are all different... I wish that one was right, wouldn't mind having 167 hp ;)

wouldnt that be the same as a b16a or b18c head gasket since it is a b series motor?

well yes, I did look around some to find a pic of that gasket. Seems like they are being used in the hybrid crowd mixing up B 16, 18, B20b.The bore is different than the B20A I believe.
Also there was a write up here but it is pretty old stuff, and I am trying to get some re-confirmation so we all have up to date information.
It is not good that even you guys in NZ may be running out of head gaskets too.

The b20a has a 87mm pistons the b20a has 81mm pistons. So the gasket will not work.

Ok guys we here in the US who have B20a need to source some gasket kits. Apache07x and I have been discussing this and he has a vendor who is willing to order some but they need a 25 piece minimum order.
Do yaw think there would be enough interest here to secure 25 purchases?
The price is not finalized because handling costs but the sets are around $70 ea. These are Ajusa brand.
There are a few b20's for sale on the board here that I myself would be a lot more interested in buying If I knew I could have at least head gaskets and pan gaskets for.
New Zealand guys, are these sets becoming scarce there as well?

Cool. That sounds like a good price. I paid more than that for mine

I've been working on finding someone on and off for close to 2 years fellas. This guy seems to be the real deal he works for the company that used to own Ajusa brand in the US. As a matter of fact he just gave me the price yesterday when I gave him the Ajusa part number and told me it would be a special order that would require a 25 piece minimum for us to get gaskets. Obviously I don't need 25 sets for one engine but I'll do 2 definitely and possibly 3 if shipping isn't too bad. He can give us a more definite shipping price when the order is placed and it's a 3 to 4 month lead time since they apparently don't make these gaskets anymore. Please let me or Guy know if you're interested. Post here, hit me with a hammer to get my attention whatever it takes.

Thanks guys
Steve

I would buy 3 or up to 5 sets myself depending on the total cost so there's 8 :)
That leaves 17 we need people interested in...
I know a lot of guys here already have at least one spare, so why not a few more on the shelf ?
These are easy upgrade engines and would be nice to know they will be serviceable for years to come. Most internals can be sourced fairly easily, things like axles and rear mounts can be fabricated without too much problem but the head gasket is the most serious deal breaker for availability.

So... is this for the full gasket or just the HG?

I have a parts BA1 lude I'm pulling apart and want to rebuild the engine so would like the full set.

I already have one kit but will buy a second to help the community

Yeah, I wouldn't mind a few spares myself. I have a full kit already, but another 3 or 4 would be sweet! I'd need to know the lead time though so I can be sure to have the money ready.

Lead time is 3 to 4 months. I imagine we would have to pay for the gaskets up front maybe and the shipping when their ready to go.

I imagine I would get them and then ship them out to where they need to go unless Guy wants to do that. So some peoples shipping would be a bit more than others. The supplier is willing to ship them out individually but I'm guessing they would charge more than I would since I won't be trying to make money off of it. The supplier also said if we get a $3000 order no charge on importing them so then the price will be just to ship from from one of our houses. But to get a $3000 order we'd have to double that minimum of 25 to 50 sets. I doubt we'll get that much interest but it would be nice.

Anybody else interested in getting some gaskets for the B20A engine we have to have a minimum order of 25 I'm only seeing 15 at most that people are wanting. I know there's more than 4 or 5 people with these engines. Where's everyone at?

If these were bought some time this summer, I could go for a couple!

Well we are guaging interest and in just a couple of days we got 60 percent, that ain't too bad.
Considering it takes a few weeks to have enough traffic to notice any response to announcments, it is actually more than I expected this early.

i guess keeping the thread bumped will make sure the rest of the b20a owners know. i only just saw the thread. unfortunately i do not need any parts

Yeah I'd say it has pretty good interest so far. Just trying to keep the thread alive so people see it easier.

Hopefully we can get an order together by summer. Waiting to get 25 sets nailed down and a solid shipping number. I imagine he'll be more apt to get us a shipping number once I can go to him and say okay I got people wanting gaskets that total the 25 set minimum.

Okay guys I have a quote for getting them to my house. Gaskets and shipping to me is going to be $120 per set prepaid. Shipping from me to wherever you are will depend on how many sets you want, where you live etc. 1) We can do the price to get them here first and then worry about the rest of the shipping later so it can be exact or 2) We can do an estimate now so you don't have to owe anything later unless it ends up being more or less in which case I'd bill you for the rest or refund you for the overage.

I personally prefer option 1 that way it's exactly what it costs and a lot less work for me.

Who's in?

Im still here, time to start official GB thread, probably with a poll. Steve I pm you my cell so we can hash out some things. I keep losing large replies, something happens and my format changes to night race and my text disappears no matter what I do. Makes more sense to buy more than one guys.
This may take weeks to months to get to the order so I hope your vendor is up for that.

Yeah he knows. I gave you my number too. I'll catch ya tomorrow though I been up since 3 this morning half the day in the heat working on cars instead of in the Ac like this old man's used to lol. So I'm tired

Go to the link un the proper thread, in Apache's sig. Were about ready, everyone knew it takes time and for the amount collected or accrued in 2 months is way ahead of where I would have expected. We do want to order before summer is out and here we are, labor day weekend, a mark of sorts of the end.
