View Full Version : Parts Source
I've got an 85 Hatchback LX, and the driver door window regulator (geared mechanism that raises and lowers the window) is broken.....Anybody know where I can get that part ? I have looked hi and low locally (Atlanta metro) to find a junkyard car.....would prefer to find a new part somewhere, but dealers have discontinued it. What is the best source for new OEM parts that are not carried at the dealerships ?
BTW probably going to sell her soon....have owned it for 20 years....runs great ! 35 mpg...new paint...no significant rust....just about everything works...pretty solid car....270 K miles
Thanks

That's a tough one man. Sorry to hear that you're going to sell it after all these years. It's getting to be a rare bird. You should show us some pictures of it! We'd love to see, and always do enjoy looking at a clean old Honda that's been well taken care of.
Back on topic, I'm afraid that there aren't a lot of places that stock parts anymore... But you might have some luck if you check Vintage Parts. They are buying up Honda's old stock of parts, and have a grip of stuff for the old Accords. Might give em a call. I do believe that the Honda dealer has access to their parts inventory too. At least the one nearby does.

^^^ That should at least get you started. Here's a post regarding the best way to search their site:

Good luck and welcome to the site!

I doubt you'll find it new anywhere. This site has it under "front door regulator"
http://www.car-part.com
After you enter the "front door regulator" and search parameters, it asks you if you have a 3 or 4 door. Don't let the "front door" part fool ya...
Awesome ! Thanks for the help and the welcoming to the group ! I will post some pictures as soon as I figure this site out.....re: selling my Accord....after some soul searching since my post yesterday, I realize that I would only let it go to a good home....as I believe that I could drive for no problem for another 100K, but in the hands of the wrong owner, it could wind up in a junkyard in a few months. I think when you have a vehicle for that long and do all the maintenance yourself, you and the car become one. blah blah blah....yeah I'll probably keep it........I don't like new cars much....and I hate new car payments !
