I found some nice wheels I like for cheap, the stud pattern is 4x114 though. I was wondering if i could just simply drill some holes in 4x100 so they would fit my car. then they would be just like ya standard multi fit wheels. I was also wanting to know the cons of doing this, since these weren't born as 'multi stud' wheels. only thing I could possibly think of is it would make them weaker taking away some of the meat...
these are they:

ive googled a few times about this, but just thought i would get your guys opinions :)

I personally wouldnt try it. the multi hole rims are machined specially. Why not get 4th gen hubs?
those look identical to BMW 300 series (late 80's) rims which are 13 4 X 100, some are 14 inch to if I am not mistaken.

ya those are 14" I really want to get out of the 13" club lol

I could try 4th gen hubs (well front ones at least) would have to research on that though. wouldn't know what to do about the rear though?? I'd like to keep my twin piston calipers though, even though the hub & piston on the 4th gen hub is big and fat lol

what ever the case I would feel safer doing the tool work on getting the studs to 4 x 100 rather than the holes

yeah, i wouldn't do it, you might try to turn those around for cash and find a better set

well the good news is that those look like a pretty high offset. given that, I would consider just getting adapter plates/spacers to convert 4x100 to 4x114.3. Should be pretty cheap, and would not require any permanent modification to the wheel or hub.

As for drilling the wheels, that's a definite possibility, and the ally should hold up without any trouble. I would only have a machine shop do it though b/c it's imperative to get them drilled dead center on the center of the hub otherwise you'll be driving on eggs. very uncool there.

the alternative of course is a hub swap, but I personally wouldn't touch that with a 10-ft pole unless you're willing to commit to never using the 4x100 again or not unless you feel like spending $$ getting them swapped back over. Not to mention the research involved in getting the proper swap donors.

the shady alternative of course is to have the holes egged out an additional 2mm toward the center of the hub, then get hub-centric rings and have at it. I wouldn't suggest this approach, but I have seen it done successfully (although i'd never attempt it).

sweet, thanks for the info. I was thinking of swapping hubs but my dream wheels are 4x100, and i can't be faced doing the work lol. In your last post, did you mean doing it like this?

either way i might just buy them cause they're cheap, could get the money back in scrap value if I wanted lol (i think). that's if no one else bids on them

Bear in mind that 4th gen front brakes are "hub over rotor." If you do a swap you'll be committed to turning your rotors only at the dealership and tearing down your whole front end when they need replacing. I have a 4th gen and will be converting to '98 Acura 2.3 CL hubs and rotors at the next brake job.

if the center of the wheel is the same thickness right round where the holes are drilled, a machine shop should be able to drill the new stud pattern.
if not, you can get the holes tigged up and re drilled
not sure on the legality of that now but it used to be alright to do
