That was a terrible wreck.

I am thinking they need to run 1/4 tracks with larger run off then Englishtown the cars are just going to fast to be safe anymore.

as an eerie precursor a top fuel dragster did the almost the same thing the friday night before in qualifying, chutes didn't open he hit the catch net but he was ok , i agree these cars are getting faster over the years i mean i remember when i was a kid them just breaking 280-290 was a big deal now they can reach 330. Ive been on the track a few times at E-town and even with my 442 that goes about 120 in a 1/4 it doesnt seem like ther is enough run off. sadly it takes something like this (and remembering the earnheart incident ) it usually takes a life for anyone to re-evaluate things. One problem is with that track is that they cant make the shutdown area longer , b/c the main road that passes by the track is no more than 100-200 feet , then theres the airport bordering the track. My father was thinking they would end up putting something like how nascar put restrictor plates on the super speedways.

yep the track is not compatable with that class anymore

hey, 120 in the quarter is a pretty fast Olds (understatement)

Jesus theres been a major row about the whole thing since his death all over the internet chat boards. I dunno what the big deal is about limiting them to big tracks. I mean thats life I'm sorry for Englishtown but who wants to see someone die because the track run off is too short.
