Might be a intersting thread listing the other cars you've owned in chronological order, any interesting stories about them, pics, etc...

Hmm, lets see, in chronological order: (got the suzuki @ 20, 28 currently)

1987 Suzuki Samurai: wonderful, simplistic, fun! Didn't even have to put a for sale sign on it, someone at a intersection made me a great offer, it was sold 10min later.

1997 Saturn SL2: college car, factory freak; used to beatup on non-PI head mustang gt's
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/pj350/05b4.jpg
2004 Impreza RS: My first and only new car. Horrible mpg, no power, trans rebuilt @ 27k miles, good riddence!

1996 Mustang Cobra (currently own)
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/pj350/IMG_0039.jpg
1989 Accord LX-I (currently own)

My parabolic curve of car ages follows trend as I'm getting a 87 gt soon

I have an 88 Samurai.
http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t3/mtnman76/IMG_5375.jpg

In the past 2 years..........

1990 Honda Civic... That was before I knew anything about Import motors.... Went up the mountain, pulled an e-brake, caught a rut, and bent the rear right EVERYTHING.

1986 GMC Safari... Looked sweet as hell, threw a rod and gave it to the junk yard.

1988 Samurai. Drove it for a while, blew that engine up, put a new one in it in a day, drove it for a while, then built it to what you see up there^^

Drove my parents 90 Pathfinder for about 4 months, then my brother gave me my 87 DX...

GOING STRONG!!

Not necessarily a bad thing! Between the Mercs, toyotas (RE-22), hondas, certain domestics, and others from that age, I really think was the pinnacle of durable car engineering was the late 80 / early 90s...

1. 1976 Honda Accord. It was a major hooptie. Broke down constantly, but I learned a lot about wrenching from that car.

2.1982 Honda Accord. Bought it with the crankshaft in the trunk. Rebuilt the engine & decided l didn't like the trans, so I rebuilt it. Still didn't like it so bought an '83 scrapper (4-speed upgrade), rebuilt that & swapped. Then I was happy.

3.1993 Honda Accord. Didn't like it so gave it to Mom.

4.1995 BMW 540i. Whatever.

5.1989 Honda Accord LX-i coupe. Love it. Love it. Love it. Never get rid of it. :D

1. 1983 Nissan Pulsar NX, good first car, slid off a dirt road in a rainstorm and lost its life to a giant rock.

2. 1985 Toyota Celica GTS, fully loaded hatch, cherry inside and out, biggest mechanical piece of shit in the world.

3. 1986 Chevy Celebrity, 4 door, piss yellow, free car i sold to try to finance fixing the Celica.

4. 1986 Nissan Pulsar NX, excellent car until the tranny gave out, too expensive to fix.

5. 1988 Lincoln Towncar, fully loaded, formally owned by Tyson Chicken as an executive company vehicle, totally pimped out, turned it off one day and she never ran again. replaced just about everything on it with no luck, finally just gave up.

6. 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera Brougham, 3.8L V6, ugly as hell, completely falling apart, bulletproof engine, faster than my friends 83 camaro on the highway.

7. 1994 Honda Civic EX, 2 door coupe, black, 5 speed, mint condition until that jeep pulled out in front of me......

8. 2002 Honda Civic EX, same as the 94 inside and out, traded it in on.....

9. 2002 Honda Civic Si, awesome car, kept getting me in trouble, sold it to my parents who traded it in on a Saturn Vue (i tried talking them into keeping the car).

10. 1988 Honda Accord LX, current car, 276,000+ miles, runs like a top, gotta find that oil leak though.....

11. 1989 Honda CRX DX, completely gutted track car project gone wrong, too much unforseen body damage upon initial inspection. have lots of parts to sell.

am looking into a 88-91 Civic 4 door wagon, my huge ass drumset does not fit into the Accord at all.....

First car, 2002 Nissan Sentra Spec V in Aztec Red (now you know where my username comes from)! 2.5L 4 cyl with 175hp, 180tq and a 6 speed. Lots of fun to drive, but incredibly prone to breaking down. Mine beat the odds and the motor never blew up (a lot of these did) but by 75K-ish, lots of things were going wrong and I traded it in on the RSX. It still had the original motor and it still ran, though! I miss it and if I could get it back, I definitely would.

http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/2256/img0012ba2.th.jpg (http://img261.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img0012ba2.jpg)
Second car, 2006 Acura RSX 5spd. Due to the bad experience with the Nissan, I bought this new. It's been great! Sadly it served daily-driver duty for its first couple of years but now I use it mostly for recreational driving.

http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/2562/071407191300uw4.th.jpg (http://img237.imageshack.us/my.php?image=071407191300uw4.jpg)
Last but not least (except in price!) my third car, 1989 Honda Accord LX-i. A buddy of mine owned it before I did. One time he was at my apartment and when he was leaving, he got the transmission stuck, so he left it in front of my apartment for a couple months. Quite a few other things were broken and/or out of adjustment as well. It eventually became clear that he wasn't going to do anything about it. I gave him 150 bucks for it last summer because I wanted to learn about working on cars without tearing into my newish RSX. Thanks to my friends, both on this forum and elsewhere, the project has been a success and the 3G has been very reliable as a daily driver (though I still keep on working on and improving it)!

1st car= 1987 Chrysler new yorker.
2.5L 4cyl. grandparents got it passed down to them, fixed everything and sold to me. ended up flipping it

2nd car= 1975 Oldsmobile Cutlass.
always had problems. electrical and mechanical. ended up blowing head gasket, fixed that then 2-3 days later oil pump quit and fixed that then there was a rod knock. but still have it. waiting to build the 455ci i have in the garage.

3rd= 1984 accord. DD
originally only bought to use till i fixed cutlass. but liked it a lot so i fixed it up. bought it at 189000 for 600 bucks. now its at 250,000 and not one single problem

4th= 1991 Honda civic si weekend car
bought it for 400 bucks from my friend that went into the army. was hit in a parking lot. he was told it needed 2,000 dollars to be fixed. i spent 30 on fixing it. put about 4,000 miles on it with no problems. gets 36mpg city 46 hwy. and right now takes $13.00 to fill up

Very nice! What springs/shocks are you running? that chin spoiler looks great, is it a mach1 piece?

YK86
12-07-2008, 11:56 PM
Yes, you are correct! I got the Mach1 chin spoiler as soon as it came out. At the time it was about $75 Canadian from the local Ford. But I've heard the price has jumped to almost double in recent years :ugh:

The springs are Sprint 2" drop for hardtops. I cut the front springs roughly half a coil to give it a raked look (the convertible is heavier in the back so with the hardtop springs, at some angles, the car looked almost like the back was lower than the front :thumbdn:

Shocks are new OEM that I got for cheap. Believe it or not, the Sprint spring rates are very mild so even with the drop, the car rides very nice (not too firm, not all bouncy). I thought they'd blow out by now but still rides like new.

Your Cobra's really nice! I'd love to eventually ride in a 03/04 Cobra. I'm still not a huge fan of the 05+ Stangs mainly because of the rear taillight area design. The front looks nice though.

#1- 1978 Buick Regal GS- Sold, the guy who I sold it to had the rear main seal go out when he was test driving it. He still bought it though luckily.

#2 1985 Dodge Charger 2.2- Own currently, collecting dust im tryin to sell it but nobody around here wants a project car. Ver rare does great burnouts too.

#3 1988 Honda Accord LX-i- Current DD, Great little car. Technically my first car because the others were never registered.

8? Renault Fuego Turbo -- My first car and alot of fun until a rod started knocking.
78 Monte Carlo -- Blew up the 305 in two weeks and replaced with a 504 cadillac engine. (Rear tires and gas were cheaper then.)
77 Mustang II -- Rust bucket that I pretty much destroyed by running it out of coolant(looked cool though)
72 Toyota Corona -- This was actually a family car, but I was the only one that could get it started:). We got rid of it when the rear frame desinigrated.
72 Volvo Coupe -- Dual strombergs! I never did get it road legal.
85 Trans Am -- Red, T-tops, aftermarket wheels. I didn't have the money to maintain it like it deserved.
89 Ford Probe -- Bought for 400$ and put 70k on it before the timing belt went. I was too lazy at the time to fix it :thumbdn:
8? S10 -- Hillybilly V8 conversion. Sold it to my dad that drove it for a couple of years til the engine let go. 4 cyl gears in the rear are not good for a V8 on the highway!
99 Intrepid -- I will pay this off next month, has not run in over a year, and I don't care! One of these days I'll bring it in and find out why #5 cylinder has zero compression.
88 Honda Accord LX -- Current and possibly last car.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

I remember the Fuego. My dad had a 1984 Renault Encore. I did a lot of work on it for him during my college years. What a piece of crap! but, it was relatively reliable and got 40 mpg on the highway. I used to borrow it to visit my friends at UT in Austin. In the Catalina it was a $40 round trip (gas). In the Renault it was $15. That was significant for a college student and I know my dad enjoyed driving to work with V8 power.
