Bouncy Tachometer?

I searched but only came up with a bouncy speedo, and this isn't a speedo. My tachometer bounces around like crazy when driving. Any ideas?

This is usually indicative of a problem with the distributor. Mine used to do this and I replaced the distributor O-Ring and now it functions properly, others have had to replace the entire distributor to fix this.

The distributor was my problem. And, you have to take care of it pretty soon, or else you might not be running. Fifty bucks at the JY.

if you hear a noise like a small rock kicking around in the distributor its probably it, replace it
