Hi, I have been driving my 1989 Accord LXi for about two weeks now. I got it for free. The first thing I did was have a muffler put on. There are so many things wrong with it. I plan to get them fixed as I get the money. Brake calipers, tires, cv joint, hood, grille, side dent...It's not too bad, yet. :D

I just love this car. It is so much fun to drive. I don't have to worry about running out of gas.

I will put up pictures soon.

New brakes were put on before I got the car. When I stop quickly, the car sort of shimmies. One person said rotors, and another said calipers. I am getting that taken care of.
I knew someone who had carbon monoxide poisoning from poor exhaust. I had no muffler at all and the pipe was all holey.
I am paying for my "free" car. :)

Thanks for the welcome.

Hi, again. Thanks for the info on the rotors. I have to tell you, I am not a brother. I am, in fact, a sister. I am not a mechanic, either, big surprise. :) I live in Florida. In the HOTTEST part. My car window motor quit.

I will take pictures this evening or tomorrow and post them. Then y'all can tell me which things to fix first when I get to the body.

Hi, all. The rotors were replaced, too. The guy said that he's going to replace the calipers. I am in Gator Country.
I am getting the mechanical things taken care of before the cosmetic. One day I want to have the car back to the way it should be.
Here are some pictures. I resized them like another website liked their's resized, so we'll see if they work. The upload process is not what I am used to.

Oh, yeah, the hood was taken from another car and cut to fit. Sad, huh?

welcome to the site

The car definitely isnt the prettiest, but as long as it gets from point A to point B who cares....function before style.

It is not the prettiest, I agree. :)
I had the front tires replaced. That got rid of the wobbling. Next thing would be the CV joint thing. Then alignment. Then...
