ecu on 99 accord (non-3G question)

My friend has a 99 V6 Accord, which has apparently cooked the ECU. Looking on eBay, I find lots of ECU's with a different part number than the one that Honda says he needs. Honda says it's a CA car, so needs a special ECU. I'm thinking that it's strange that none of the ECU's on eBay end in -308, but are L51, mostly.

Anyone have experience with these things on the 6G? If I put in another ECU, are things going to light up on the dash? Thx.

the CA ecu has more limitations....i would say as long as the plug is the same they should be able to work
