my amp is turning off and on in like 3 second intervals. its a Kenwood KAC-8103D (1000w peak 300w rms @ 4 ohms). The amp is only a few months old i haven't really tested it out for a long time, but now its turning off and on every 3 seconds. i have checked over all my wiring even tried it at home on my 12v bench test power supply and still same thing. is my amp toast? if it is Kenwood sucks.

edit: i was running one infinity kappa perfect 12.1 (350w rms @ 4 ohms 1400w peak).

check your ground...mine would do that cuz i had a crapy ground...then i just got a better ground to the rear seatbelt bolt...

but im using a 12v bench test so there should be no problem with the ground, or power.

Try another sub. Could be a fried voice coil shorting out inside the speaker and causing your amp to go into protect mode.

Sounds like a problem with the amp, ive never heard much good from kenwood audio stuff... Sounds almost like a shot capacitor or something inside the amp i dunno
Hope you didnt may too much for it or have a warranty. I get my stuff from www.cardiscountstereos.com

my kenwood amp has been through absolute hell..LOL and its still rockin..but i think its on its last leg tho.. :/ but for now.. its still rockin!

sorry to hear about your prob. bro.. but when my amp went out ( the kenwood i have now) i sent it to my uncle cause he's good with that wireing stuff, and he took it all apart and noticed one of my wires came disconnected and he fixed it up, and then he told me that my amp got do hot and started burning it's self.. thats the only prob. ive had.. it doesnt cool off well
