So i got done with class this morning, was on my way home, and I got hit by a guy on a bicycle! :jaw: I was doin bout 35mph on this street and he turned right, (running a stop sign) while pretty much goin flat out, off of a side street onto the street that I was on. Instead of stayin on the far right side of the street he immediately veers left through the lane and hit me in the right front fender. I slammed on the brakes right before we made contact but it didn't help. I basically carried him on the fender till we schreeched (sp) to a hault. He was complainin that he couldn't move and all this other crap, but they took him to the hospital and even the cops said he'll be just fine. All the while we're waitin on the emergency help he's sayin I came outta nowhere, was haulin ass, and was askin if I had insurance and all that crap. I'm sure he was thinkin he could get a sympathy vote and wanted to blame me for the accident. :gun: The cop said that it was a cut and dry case and that he was at fault. I'm waitin on my car to get back from the shop right now cause his bicycle punctured my right front tire. I'll have pics posted of the damage tmrw, there's a good bit needs fixin. I'm glad he's fine, but I'm pissed as hell at him.

oh man, sorry to hear that.. dam

I bumped some girl leaving a red light.. she took off then stopped suddenly to yeild to traffic that was not there... yeah.I looked down for just a split second and bam she was there stoping after we had done left the red light. anyway she was all fine and we talked for a while, she was in a hurry to go then the cops came, all the while she is on the phone.. it was obvious they were talking her into going to get checked. I only tapped her car and left just a small smudge on her bumper where mine rolled under it a little. Well the cop was not going to do anything until she said she was going to the dr. then he had to write me a ticket for following too close or something , hell I forgot. anyway it cost me a couple points on DL and a 180 fine. The silly bitch never even went to the dr, and never made a claim on the car. Must have chickened out trying to burn my insurance.
But hey barreling into some guy on bicycle sounds like a lot more fun ... lol

I did the same exact thing you did when I was stopped on an off ramp to the interstate. It was no biggie and we just went our separate ways. Thanks though, hopefully this will get fixed quickly. What sucks is that I had my car repainted about 2yrs ago and now I'm worried that after everything is "fixed" that it won't be like it was before the accident. :(

You should ask him if he's got insurance to pay for your fender and your new tire. If the police say the accident is his fault, he should have to pay. Sounds like a prick acting like it was all your fault.

Roodoo, I did that exact same thing too. Ran into the back of an Integra GSR that started turning right and stopped. The road was perfectly clear and I was looking left for any cars. Not sure why he stopped, since I was going and there was more than enough time to good. Good thing he had just run the side of his car into a wall or I'd have been paying to fix who knows what. Didn't do any damage to the 2gee though.

man that sucks. I almost had that happen to me once. Some dude on a bike comes shooting out of an allyway right across the middle of the straight. I had to slam on my brakes just to not hit him, and the asshole had the nerve to look at me like "well why the hell is your car in the middle of the street driving?" As if it was my fault he jetting into traffic without looking.

Believe me, I'll try to get what I deserve in order to fix my car. One catch though... The school is TSU (good school, I'm only going for summer school though) and it's surrounded by the ghetto and extremely crappy houses. The guy was a black male in his 40's (I think) ridin a POS bicycle. If he had any money to his name he'd be drivin a car instead of ridin a bike. So I heavily doubt that he has insurance of any sort. And from talkin to my parents and replayin the accident in my head, it almost appears that he could have done this on purpose... maybe... Hell I'm a college student who doesn't work, is supported by my parents, and I'll bet money that I have more in the bank than he does... which is sad in retrospect

Bikers always used to annoy me, but now I hate them lol. Here are the pics I took today. Both of the front tires were needin to be replaced before the accident so we replaced the left front one and the right front is of course bein contributed to the repair cost. The first one was taken after I got the paint job around a couple years ago, and that's what it looked like before... almost perfect :(
