My parts car that I was going to use for an A20A3 and the complete EFI harness, is basically trash.

I now have the ability to build my own motor mount plates, so "direct bolt in" is not a necessity. I can fab up plates to utilize the stock mounts pretty easily.

I'm thinking instead of trying to find ANOTHER car with ANOTHER EFI harness since the one I have is so rat chewed it's pretty much worthless, what if I were to go standalone? That would open up my options wouldnt it?

If you were to go standalone, EFI, didnt want to dump a ton of money into it but make it RELIABLE, and could modify motor mounts and didnt mind having the CV axles cut and adjusted in length for a custom fit, what would you put in it?

Keep in mind, this will be a DD, Im looking for power similar to that of my Integra GSR had with the B18C1 (though less would be ok, just would be nice if I could get that in the cordy) and want it to run basically like a stock car when you get in, turn the key and go. AC has to work. Wife will be driving it some, and will have both kids with me from time to time.

Am I asking too much from a custom engine setup? Or can it be done to feel "seamless" from the operator's point of view, other than maybe looking at basic "autometer" guages in place of the stock guage pod and it having more power when you press the loud pedal?

B18- you already know the answer, second choice IMO would be F22 vtec if you can find one.

all that you are wanting, easyer to just keep it honda- otherwise I could think of a half dozen other power plants though.

I wish I would have kept the teggy too. That engine ran like a swiss watch still at 143K. I kept the oil changed at 3-4K intervals with Mobil-1 and used Mobil-1 filters. It didnt use a drop of oil and even when I changed the oil, it was barely darkened, on the dipstick it looked the color of dark honey, not black and nasty like domestics do.

Same way so far with our new 4Runner. Both those engines seem to be really easy on the oil. My Ram, turns that shit black in a weeks time lol.

h22. keep the power steering, keep the ac. you get all the options with it, and some balls to back it up ;)

Wasnt there a version that WOULD work and one that absolutely WONT work???

Any ideas what these were?

And how hard are these to find anyway?
