accord hood fit question

I need to replace my 89 accord lxi hood with one that fits my car. The one I have is cut and bent to fit from another Honda. Will any 86 through 89 accord hood fit? I need the grille, too. I plan to get one at the junkyard and have them put on.

all the hoods are the same from 86-89 the only difference is the grill

Thanks. I should be able to get a hood and grille for around $51. I will worry about paint later. :flash:

actually not all of them are the same, in 1986 there were still some 2nd gen accords being made (and them hoods don't fit), and in 1989 was the beginning of 4th gen accords, and those hoods don't fit either. also in 1987 they made fixed head light accords, their hoods will 'bolt on' but probably wont close without damaging your pop-up lights, so in other words, it doesn't fit either. of course none of this useless information applys to anyone living in the US, just wanted to prove that not *all* 86-89 accords hoods are the same. also another pointless fact is that the 2nd gen vigor bonnet fits also (made from 1985-1989) has to be from a pop-up light model though otherwise it wont fit. most 1987-1989 ones don't have holes drilled in the hood for a H badge either, as their Hs where in the grille. so as long as the hood comes off a honda accord with pop-up head lights, then it should fit your car unless it was severely damaged or modified.

I'm gonna look for one that has pop-ups and in the years mentioned. I hope it will fit or I'll have a junkyard here at my apartment.
