Accord Excelerates by Itself

I have a 89, LXi, auto EFI and it will ocasionaly exceleate by itself which is becoming dangerous. I will be driving along at a slow speed and it will excelerate by itself. Sometimes the tack will go to 4k. I will have to step on the brake while it is still getting gas and then shift into neutral at high rpms, then hit the gas to rev it down.

Sounds like your throttle cable is sticking.

or the plate it self, try cleaning the throttle body
