Maaco is horrible, that $250 is BS, they have hidden charges. Like taping and masking the car off. And you can only get common colors. They would charge you an arm and a leg for the SI Blue color. My dad is an Autobody tech. and he hates Maaco.

Try to find someone that knows someone that does paint jobs. That's about all I can say. And another charge Maaco charges is prep work.

try some local paint shops you can always go to somewhere like sherman williams and buy the paint and take it to the paint shop you save money like that too. i am doing that when i get my car painted championship white

You need to spend some money to get a good paint job unless you have connections with someone. A good paint job i would expect to pay anywhere from $1000-2400 depending on what is being done and the shape the car is in. Body work is very labor intesive and takes time to prep and spray it correctly with everything removed.

You get what you pay for. There are no shortcuts when it comes to painting a car. Just the basic paint for my car cost me $550. That was the wholesale cost that I got through my brother's bodyshop. You can imagine the quality you get for $250 including all the labor.
