Has anyone here seen and/or heard an Apex N1 on a 3gee. I know i guy whose selling his for cheap. This guy's brother has a N1 on his turbo Civic and it sounds rad (how come its our friends and never us who get to do the swanky mods like turbos?). Anyway just wondering how it stacks up against the Dynomax, etc.

Thanks

mufflers always seem to vary. one muffler will sound different on two of the same car. i'm sure ti will sound good, but it's gonna be loud as hell. those things look pretty sick too though.

allright, then ill plan to get it. a second question though: the inlet is 2.5" on the N1, when i have the cat-back pipe welded up, do you think I should get 2.5" or 2.25" pipe? I was thinking 2.5" to avoid necking down.

:P backpressure
A few people have done it w/ 2.5" pipe though.

I'd say 2.5 would be too big, but that just my 2 cents

if you think about it the opening of a 32/36 = 68mm convert that to inches and you get 2.68".
But then exhaust velocity decreases as it cools.

I have an Apexi N1 on my car. Make sure you dont get the turbo version! The inlet pipe is something like 3". If you are running stock piping to it, its going to take some bad ass custom made adapters. If you are running 2.25" piping to it, I have a feeling its going to be loud as balls. Even mine with stock piping it isnt loud, but I can make it loud in 3rd gear and a foot to the floor. Its a nice purr right now. Its a nice muffler though, but pricey, Mine was around $250.00.

Nate.

I think mike (a20A1) has an apexi too. but i am gonna be happy with a dynomax cause if ur just gonna replace ur muffler with no headers or piping or a cat. u wont see a huge difference in power gain. if ppl say they do (those who just replace the muffler) its just their imagination, dyno it, u will cry.

get the 2.25in piping... it'll slide right into the 2.5in he'll probably just weld the difference.... plus you dont want to lose anymore low end...

i totally agree. i just put on the muffler, but i didn't expect to feel it. at the time i think i just wanted the sound. do you guys think that a 2" system would be worth it?

yeah a 2" system would be fine, but to get all the gases out, i would say 2.25". the piping is not gonna be more expensive than the 2" and most of the price for a mandrel bent piping, comes from how many and what kinda bend they are. Besides, its easire to find a cat with a 2.25" than a 2".
