Had to get the car inspected, so I decided to take advantage of the local honda service shop's oil change while the car was there...

Ends up they put in 5qts of 5w20 :uh: I drained the extra quart, but the lighest weight oil the service manual recommends is 5w30. I'm planning on changing it at the end of next week (e.g. 400 miles).

I'm guessing it shoudn't cause too much harm in that short a time period right?

Your good, don't worry about it. I use to use 5W20 and then switched back to 5W30.

You're fine. I'm wanting to give 0W20 a shot some time.

You should be fine. 400 miles won't hurt anything. I had 5w30 oil in my BMW for a while, and I found out that 5w30 is to thin for it, and I was fine.

I hope you didn't have to pay for the oil service?

After I complained about the extra quart added, I got the next one for free...
