my boot lid catch thjing is not keeping the boot shut, when i adjust it so it will, it just bends away (:gun: RUST :rocket:) well now the area is so weak that when that when the latch makes contact with it, it will move, i can even move it with my fingers (once again, fuck rust) anyways i need the boot lid to be working with ease cause it gets used heaps. i cant afford to get that rust fixed properly, but it's pretty bad i need to do something to keep it shut and still be able to access it easily. anyone got easy ideas? i want to avoid tieing it down if i can. thx

i think you would need to clean up the rust realign the trunk with the latch and probably bolt a new piece of metal across it to remount the latch. might be complicated but could work

you owe me 5 dollars cuz i just lost my breakfast:jaw:

why didn't you go streight thru the bottom on the inside and bring the chain back up, at least it would close sealed and not look so bad.

Anyone close to you that has access to a MIG welder?

This is an easy repair. you could just cut the rusted part and weld one from a good donor car. There should be plenty of good cars to take this part from.

You could always just cut the old part and glue the new one there if you don't have access to a welder.
