I'm getting the last bolts today....any suggestions of things to look for or things to do before i turn the engine over cause its been so long.....i know the battery is dead and i've charged it.....anything else?....thanks

check belts, filters (fuel and air), tires, and fuses

Crank the engine either by hand (turning the crank pulley or bolt) or turn it over without the plug wires plugged in so it won't actually start to get the oil flowing through the system again. Maybe throw in some additive that burns out the water in the fuel tank. Sometimes, gas will start to separate (or so I heard) after sitting a long time.

cool.....i think i'll bypass the coil and bump it a few times and then let it roar to life

i had a lude that sat for about 9 months and i started it up, and let it run for a little bit. It had some problems, but that could only be addressed after i replaced the clutch.. which i will never do again. Question is 3000 too much for a 88 lude 4ws with 200K miles?

YEah that's what I do when I take it out of winter storage.

unplug the coil and crank it a bit. That was with the carb tough...

i had a '68 stang that sat in a field for 5 years before i got it... took me a half hour and it fired up and ran like a champ, with old gas in it, ran ok the exhaust reeked though, gotta love straight 6's. they run like crap, but that run that way forever ( and i do mean forever )
