Does anyone know if there is a difference between a Fuel injected 4 door instrument cluster and a Carburator 4 door instrument cluster?

Yes. Fuel injected one has a CEL and some had the PGMFI. Otherwise, I don't think there is a difference.

what is a cel?

Are all the connections the same.

I just did a auto to 5 speed swap yesterday. Fingers hurts. I need a cluster for a 4 door manual.
I found one but it is from a carb car though.

Just swap the Temp/fuel gauge itself and keep the rest intact. It has to be from the same manufacturer tough (NS and Denso)

i messed up the gauge cluster last time.

So the carb has the cel and the fi has the PGM-FI light. I am just hoping for a cluster that i can plug in and go. Why would I have to swap the fuel temp. That is the one that I messed up last time. I found a carb with 87xxx miles. I wanted it but I want a plug and play. what should I do? What should I buy.

Fuel Injected models had a CEL and PGFMI light, well coupes had the PGMFI for sure. Carb'd models do not have any of those.

carb's 13" rims. fi 13" or 14" rims might notice what it cam off of. speedo will be off with different tires

thats not controlled by the gauges but by the speedo sensor in the trany lol

i always thought it was in the dash that made the difference. in that case my speedo's been off a long time!

ya the speedo sensor is in the 5 speed tranny right behind the starter

The overall tire diameter stays the same.

Its in the same location on the auto too. From what I know the speed sensor itself is the same between the 5-speed and auto. The only difference is the gearing inside the auto and 5-speed which the sensor is driven off of.

carb clusters will make the VSS not work and there is no check engine light
so ...
DO NOT GET A CARB CLUSTER
