I was wondering how much difference it would make on the engine cooling if the splash pan was installed vs. not having one. It would seem to me that if the splash pan were there, the air would flow through the radiator at a higher velocity than if the pan were removed. Without the pan, the air would go under the radiator instead of through it so the engine would not be cooled as much? The thermostat would handle any variations but besides keeping all the gear under there cleaner what difference would the existence of a splash pan make?

I don't have one on my 88LX. I have not had any problems.
Although I maybe getting one at the j/y and installing it. I get nervous driving mine in the rain with the weber on as I would hate to suck water into the new engine.
