There are 3 up front, and I think 3 in the rear. The rear ones are a bitch to change.

Napa sells a set. I'd go that route.

$14. Totally worth it in my opinion. Doesn't say how many though. You'll have a bonus one that you can slingshot at the neighbor's cat or something.

I'm pretty sure there 10 total, including 2 really small ones. The set I have has 8 large ones and the 2 small ones are missing.

There's 8. The 2 really tiny ones are for the oil passage.

Screw cats. I had one that was always tearing my car cover and would piss in the suburban when the windows were down. Finally caught him and took that bitch to the pound. Just don't do anything to it you'd regret. Personally, I couldn't give a shit.

headgasket will go out first than a freeze plug

headgasket will go out first than a freeze plug

If the plug is rotted out it will go first.

it rarely happens over here...maybe because we dont have to salt our roads

Not because of salt, its because of poor cooling system maintenance. The plugs will corrode, then do to pressure they will start to leak.

anyone know how to get the freeze plugs out without messin the block up?

Well when I had the motor out of the car i used a slide hammer with a screw on the end to pull them out. I drilled a hole on the out side edge and then screwed the slide hammer in and gave it a few taps and the plug would come right out.

ive drilled a hole in the middles of them but cant seen to get them to come out i might try that tomorrow

I tried holes in the middle but that didn't work the metal bent to easily. But with a hole to the side its easier to get that side to start coming out 1st which makes it easier to get the hole plug out.

I just knock them into the block and pull them out with a pair of vice grips.
