Well to state the problem:

My p/s pump leaks, bad. Just got a new rack, helped a lot, but the pump still is leaking a ton.

Should I buy a used one which I could easily get for cheap, buy a reman for twice the price of used, or should I order all new gaskets and seals for my current one and just rebuild it? All the hoses are in good condition, just the pump itself leaks on the bottom somewhere.

Any input would be appreciated

Oh and I felt like sharing that this is the only leak my 284k mile car has ;)

I had good luck replacing the shaft seal after first trying an equally leaky junkyard replacement.

If you have 284k miles on that pump, it's very likely worn out. If you choose to rebuild, Rock Auto (http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,1167027,parttype,7407,partGroup,26) has a Gates rebuild kit for $15. Just be sure to look inside and make sure it's worth it.

That's what I'm replacing as well. If all else fails, the part was 10 bucks and I could always get a working replacement.

Thanks for all the replies guys
