Going slow over wide speed bumps I get a very faint creaking sound from my front suspension.

What should I replace, prob. ball joints?
Anything else to replace while I'm in the area?

In terms of brands of aftermarket suspension parts, are any prefered because of better build quality?

Thanks guys!

I'd say suspension bushings and ball joints, control arms.

I'd look first at the UCA bushings. Use moog or three-five for suspension parts. I wouldn't mess around with any chinese bullshit. Prothane bushings are great if you're going for the performance feel and hold up very nicely. Do not use anything other than the stock sleeve that goes through the bushings. A worn honda UCA sleeve is better any day than one that comes in those ching don chan bushing kits. The stock sleeves have no seam, unlike the ones that come in the kits. So the honda sleeve + honda/moog/three-five bushings for the UCAs.

I've pinpointed the sound to the left side ball joint on the bottom arm...

Just to make sure I have the needed parts & bushings:

Cont. arm (kind of confused because it states this is the upper cont arm, but appears to be the lower?)

These two are the lower control arm bushings. You need the LOWER ball joint. It is replaceable and needs to be pressed in and out. The lower bushing might not be a bad idea esp since the bolts have a tendancy to stick to the steel sleeve. Part number MOOG Part # K9385 .

While you're down there, you might try cleaning and re-greasing the bolt that attaches the pinch fork to the lower arm.
